Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Interview Questions:

We had a lawyer with us, the interviewer and his assistant.
The whole interview process took about 1 hour and the session was taped.
We were separated during the interview.

He asked us for our ID and verified our names, country of birth and age. "Where do I work? Where does my partner work? Tell me about when you guys met? where? And what did you do the first day? Who proposed to whom and when? Why did you decide to get married? When did I move in with my partner? Where I lived when we first met? Had he been to my place before? He cross checked my answer with my partners when asked what kind of apartment we lived in. Do we have our relationship public on Facebook?" (i did not). He then asked, "why not?" (i replied i had my status as married only but did not display partners name). He asked me to prove it. I whipped out my phone and showed him. He verified my marital status and noticed my taste of music in my profile and... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was on 11/15/2018 at 10:45am.First we had to show our appointment letter to the officer then had to go through security check. After that we went to the Front Desk. We were told to go to the second floor and wait at door number 1. We waited for 35 minutes. Then we were called at door 2. The interviewer immediately asked if we needed an translator. We said, no.Then we walked to his office and we had to swear we would tell the truth and he took my fingerprints and photo.

The interview lasted about 20 minutes. First he asked if we had any additional evidence to submit then asked biographical questions from I-485 from both of us. After that he asked about 10 questions from the Yes/No questions of I-485. Then he asked if I had another passport and if I had been in the USA previously and what I worked now. Then he asked my husband how we had met, what he works and if he has any kids. At the end he said he had found everything all right with our paperwork and ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Getting to the address, finding parking and getting into the building was all very easy. We were sitting in the waiting room 20 minutes before our appointment. Interview was scheduled for 11:35 and we were called around ten minutes after that. Officer was polite, though not very talkative. She swore us in, reviewed our original birth certificates, marriage licence, and passport. She spent some time reviewing my application, silently. She asked us for evidence that the relationship was still bona fide. We submitted joint tax return, documents that show shared address, shared health insurance, telephone bill, etc. (These were all new documents that we had since we submitted the application, so make sure you bring those). She spent quite a bit of time looking at my passport and the application. She didn't say anything. I was sooooo nervous! Then, she asked me the Yes/no questions that appear on the I-485 form about previous crimes, convictions, etc. Then said she would need to review the... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

When you enter the building, there is an officer that ask if you have an appointment as soon as you walk in, we showed our appointment paper and he said to we're clear to enter the building and to speak to the front desk of where to go, we lined up through security and it's similar as airport security when you walk through. After we had passed the front desk was directly in front of us.

My wife had asked the front desk where to go. She told us we have to go to the second floor and wait by door 2.

We went upstairs and it was a pretty crowded waiting room with 3 different doors. We sat by door 2 and we waited for about 20-25 minutes and we were called by door 3 instead (door 2 was pretty busy and we hardly saw anyone come out).

We were called and confirmed with the USCIS interviewer if it was my last name and she replied yes and no worries.

We had sworn to tell the truth before need had in sat in the office and the interview... read complete review
