our interview was at 1:15pm, me and my husband got there at 12:45pm but didn't give the notice to the lady her because we were waiting for my attorney, she told us to wait until she was there ...we gave them the notice at 1:14pm (my attorney was running late thanks to amazing traffic in philly) and waited for about 30 min when my name was called by a female officer, as soon as I saw her I was intimidated, she didn't even say hi or whatever to us (officer A. Knox) ...when we got to her office she told my attorney to ger ready to translate, my attorney nicely told her she wasn't there to translate and the officer just told us to stand up then and swore us in, then told us to have a sit and asked me for my original birth certificate, my husband's naturalization certificate, our marriage certificate, my divorce decree and birth certificates of both my girls but then gave me back the one from my older daughter cause she is not biological of my husband. Getting to the address, finding parking and getting into the building was all very easy. We were sitting in the waiting room 20 minutes before our appointment. Interview was scheduled for 11:35 and we were called around ten minutes after that. Officer was polite, though not very talkative. She swore us in, reviewed our original birth certificates, marriage licence, and passport. She spent some time reviewing my application, silently. She asked us for evidence that the relationship was still bona fide. We submitted joint tax return, documents that show shared address, shared health insurance, telephone bill, etc. (These were all new documents that we had since we submitted the application, so make sure you bring those). She spent quite a bit of time looking at my passport and the application. She didn't say anything. I was sooooo nervous! Then, she asked me the Yes/no questions that appear on the I-485 form about previous crimes, convictions, etc. Then said she would need to review the ... read complete review

I applied for AOS through diversity visa. My appointment was at 9am on June 11, 2014, and I arrived the USCIS office at 8am. It was very early, and they won't call you earlier than your appointment time so you should be fine if you go there 15 min prior. There are 3 different doors and the lady at the reception tells you which door the IO will call you, so you sit close to that door. I called in at 8:58am, the IO was very polite and friendly. He swore me in as soon as I walked in, and started looking through my file. He asked me my address, last time and place I entered the United States, and my mom's and dad's names. Then he went through the I-485 questions. He asked for the originals of my birth certificate and my I-20s/College enrollment forms.
All went very smoothly and he told me that I would hear about an update by the end of the day/the next day. I have received the USCIS email the next morning and I was approved!! Now waiting for my GC in the... read complete review
