Arrived at 9.30 and our appointment was at 10.35, talked to some other couples that were there, most seemed pretty relaxed. We were called around 10.40, the lady that saw us was friendly but professional, asked us how we met, when did we decide to get married, looked at our evidence and we felt more like a general conversation than an interview. After 10-15 minutes she said she thought our relationship was real and I was approved. She didn't look at the pictures that I brought or asked for any other things.

Hello,
My wife and I are scheduled to have our AOS interview on August
12. We've (obviously) been successful to this point of the
process but admittedly have had concerns about the interview.
First, let me say how very appreciative we are of others who have
posted their experiences at the Norfolk, VA, office, which is
where we are to have our interview. The many positive reviews
have been both very helpful and calming. And we were surprised at
how brief many of the interviews were; another great piece of
information. So, again, thank you to all who have generously
shared so much valuable information. And we plan to post our own
experience in the hopes of giving back to others.
Second, we do have some questions/concerns that can, perhaps, be
addressed by you who have gone through the interview.
Now, we have much in the way of evidence for our r... read complete review

Well the AOS interview was very lovely. The interviewer was a lovely lady asking questions as though we were there for brunch with family. It took roughly less than 10 mins. The location is very clean and welcoming from time of arrival to exit.

My change of status from J-1 Visa to Green Card (by marriage to a US citizen) was recently approved.
I was interviewed at the Fairfax immigration office in Virginia.
Entry into USCIS:
I arrived 20 minutes early went through the security where
I thought I had to surrender my cellphone or photographing device but that wasn't the case
they only require you to put your phone on "silent" mode and to agree not to take any photos
while visiting the office. Although this was only communicated by signs posted on the walls
no one really reinforced it. After going through the metal detector and putting our bags through
the X-ray. We walked around to the front desk and flashed our interview letter to a lady sitting
at the front desk before entry into the main corridor leading to the elevators. She glimpsed at
as we explained we were here for the Green Card interview she just just told us to go up to
level 2. ... read complete review

I had my interview at the local office of Norfolk on 04/08/2013 !!! Everything went very smoothe the officer was very nice, she swore us and made us feel really comfortable !!!! She took our IDs and make sure everything was correct she went over the I-485 questions we were all laughing and having fun!!! Then she asked how we met? Did we have a long/short engagement? how often my spouse meet my parents? After she checked the documents we had the pictures, the bills, the lease, the tax return, and my school record!! After that she said I was approved everything look perfect she went over the next steps after the 2 first years and that was it!!!! Best of luck to everybody!!!!
