our appointment was at 930am we arrived at 9am to be nice and early. We sat in the waiting area until just after 10am when we were called back. Once we were taken back we were sworn in asked some basic questions about our daughter when we got married then said shes was satisfied about our marriage then basically asked me (the applicant) everything on the I-485 like parents name? where were they born? there date of birth? where do they currently reside? my date of birth? where was i born? when is my husbands birthday? whats his parents names? where was my husband born? literally everything on the I-485 she asked me then she moved down to yes no questions. After that was all done and all my answered matched the officer gave us a recommended for approval. exactly 1 week later i received my green card in the mail. Overall it just seemed like a very relaxed general chat. We missed our biometrics appointment due to not receiving the mail, and found out several weeks later once USCIS had updated our case status online. We called USCIS and they said to just try walking in. We did that and were in and out within 15 minutes total. All staff were very polite, the office was clean, and it was not intimidating at all. Sooo much better than the DMV!! I thought it would be scary but everyone was so friendly. The guy who did the biometrics was joking around with us. It was such a pleasant experience, especially considering how much we were dreading it before.

Norfolk is my home USCIS office - I went there for initial AOS, ROC, InfoPass and N400. I visited both locations before and after they moved. Every time my experience was very pleasant, people were nice and fast, officers answered all my questions and took their time explaining the steps. I owe a special mention and thanks to the officer Linda(Carter?)who conducted my AOS and ROC interviews. She is extremely nice and I'd love to meet her one more time to thank her in person.
They did loose my divorce decree in 2012 though, I assume because I submitted it right during the week they moved to the present location.
