Newark Office, New Jersey Just came from adjustment of status interview based on marriage and I would like to share with everybody my experience. It doesn't take too long to be called from the window, we had the interview set for 10:30 am they called us at 11:05, so do not go too early. Was very easy, they just asked us personal information to my husband and me about names, place of birth, name of parents, and place where we live. They dont even ask me for pictures (I had 3 albums with 1000 pictures!!)Anyway, just be calm, hold the hand of your spouse, be affectionate and everything is gonna be ok. If your marriage was based in real love you dont have to worry about anything. I could see some couples that they seemed to be faking was so obvious! It took like 15 minutes and finally they say "CONGRATULATIONS you are a resident! you will receive a greencard in 2 weeks :D ".

We were finally approved today. I just wanted to share some of the details.
1. Our appointment was at 10:00am, we arrived around 9:30. Long lines, waiting area was standing room only. We sat from about 10:00 until 1:00pm before we were called in.
2. We were asked if we need a translator, but my husband declined.
3. The very first thing that we were asked for was the I-94s. Now, the original that we had gotten when we came in on the k-1 was fotocopied and included with the packet, but it was not very legible, the date that is. We no longer had the original b/c we used the advanced parole, so it was removed and a new one attached to my husbands passport. I thought this was going to be a HUGE problem just by the guys tone. BUT.... he asked us where my husband entered, and the date. He found him in the system. One down!!
4. He asked "did you see a dr. in your home country" What did you do with the packet, because I don't have it ... read complete review

Interview started only about 30 minutes after the scheduled (per the Notice to Appear) time. Interviewer was friendly and very thorough. A through and through professional. Questions asked - our birthdays, when and where we got married, where we were born. He looked at some photos and asked my wife (she was the adjustment applicant) to identify various people in the photos. He took photocopies of a joint bank statement and various joint insurance statements and added them to our file.
The entire interview lasted about 10 minutes. Maybe 15.
And at the end, he said my wife was approved. He stamped her passport with I-551 stamp. No change in online USCIS status yet (I guess it's too soon) and of course no green card in the mail yet. The guy said it should only be a matter of 2-4 weeks.
