Mine was a simple case. No problems anticipated. I-130 approval notice arrived. Still waiting ( for a round a month now) for the I-485 approval.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was at 11:30am. We got there early at 10:30am.
With security and check in, we were seated by 10:45am. There were about 8-9 group of people in the room waiting.

We got called in at around 12:20 and were done by 12:30. It was nice and quick, nothing stressful.
The officer had us sworn and then seated. She asked for current address, passports, driving license, marriage certificates.
Also she needed the rental lease form us to show the address.
She then asked if we have any joint documents to show.
We gave her credit card statements, joint banking statement, AT&T bills, Verizon bills. She took about 1 or 2 from each stacks.
I have another stack of documents in front of me and she asked is that medical insurance. I said yes and she took it.
Then she said: you can keep the rest. I didn't even get a chance to show our our auto lease, auto insurance etc.

The interview was straightforward, simple, and relatively short. The interviewer was personable and asked us only standard questions that anyone would know the answer to. I never felt nervous or disrespected. We are an interracial same-sex couple and we were treated justly and fairly.

Interview was very easy going and a relaxing atmosphere. I was approved at the same date. But the official Greencard will be mailed within the new year (2017).

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was scheduled for 3:30pm. Our lawyer told us to be patient because that was the last time of the day for interviews. We arrived to the building (26 Federal Plaza in New York) at 2:30pm and went through security (airport style). We needed to go to room 800 (8th floor) and check in. There was no one else in that room. We showed our NOA with our appointment and they gave us a paper highlighting the room we needed to go to next (and gave us back the NOA). We went to room 437 on the 4th floor and checked in again with the only person available at the windows. She kept the paper they gave us in room 800, stapled a paper with our turn and asked us to take a seat. It was 2:45 by then.

There were only 3 other couples and a mother and son in the waiting area. We noticed they didn't necessarily call people in the order they arrived, apparently they assign your case to a specific officer (the officer who reviewed your file - I know this because our officer mentioned he... read complete review
