Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my interview yesterday, 02/01/2018 (PD 02/15/2017). All in all in went really well although my husband forgot the date of our wedding . We've been married for over three years so I wasn't surprised as he's horrible with dates. Our interview was scheduled for 2:05 and we arrived at 1:33 and went through the whole TSA security type entrance. (Save a few seconds and wear shoes that are easy to take off!!) We turned in our interview notice and waited to be called at 2:30. We were last to be interviewed by that particular officer that evening. It was truly more like a conversation and we barely had any hard evidence besides for joint savings account that was about 6 months old with very little money in there but with regular deposits, our travel itineraries from our vacations, a few pictures and a printouts from our bank account showing that we transferred money back and forth in lieu of a joint checking account. We were in there for about 20 minutes. After we spoke... read complete review

We had a great experience with a great case officer!!

Our appointment was for 12.50p but we showed up atound 12.30p.  We actually got called in within 5 minutes of checking in.  Our officer was very friendly and escorted us to her office.  She asked us for our passports and state IDs.  Things started rocky immediately because our driver's licenses are actually for NJ though we live in NYC (I grew up there and that's where I keep my car still, etc. so didn't make sense to transfer drivers license).  Anyways, explained the situation to her and we had enough proof of living in NYC though she told us to make sure to get this all cleared up before we apply to get conditions removed.  While discussing the address, she went ahead and looked at all of our joint financials.  We had prepared a cover page outlining for what all proof we were showing and in what order which she greatly appreciated.

Anyways, she then asked us about our story, wh... read complete review

The appointment was at 9.30, we got there at 9 and they called us at 10.30 am. The officer was very serious all the time. He asked tons of questions one after the other, almost no time to take a breath. He asked us for originals, I'm so glad we had everything. He started with some personal questions like how we met, how did we realise it was something serious, etc. He kept some of our bank's statements and he asked us to see more recent photos and made me some questions about the people there. He made me some questions about his parent's age and about his family.

It took us around half an hour, he didn't tell us if it was approved or not. He asked us to wait for the mail. 5 days later we got the approval letter and 5 more days after it we got the card in the mail!!
