We arrived at the Los Angeles USCIS office around 10:45am for our scheduled 11:05am appointment. We drove, so if you want to park, you're going to have to use the public parking across the street from the USCIS office building. It's an underground parking facility and not very cheap. We had to pay $13.25 for our 3 hour stay. Also, make sure you remember your parking space! It took us a half hour to find our way back to our car once we were done, this parking structure is very large, and it covers about 3 city buildings. We ended up in the underground police facility, the DMV emergency vehicle lot, and walked all over Level 2 before a kind soul explained that we were on the wrong level, and needed to go up to Level 1. Even then, it was a chore trying to find out where we parked.
We entered the USCIS building, and had to go through an airport security type checkpoint. Then we took the elevators to the 8th floor for our appointment.

Been there just once to ask a question about proof of marriage. Wanted to go over my documents with an Immigration Officer. The IO was totally clueless to the CR-1 process and the type of evidence I needed to provide. He just gave me a number and email the to CSC in Laguna Beach, in which they told me to go back to the LA CIS office. This is what you call the "run-around".

Our AOS interview in downtown LA was scheduled for 8:50 a.m. We decided to take a bus there because I wanted to avoid having to drive in downtown, plus to avoid the morning traffic, etc. We left extra early (at 6 a.m.) and arrived there by 7:30, we live about 14 miles from downtown. We went to eat breakfast at the L.A. mall, right across from the federal building, but I was too nervous to eat. My sister went along also to act as the translator, just in case she was needed. She only had to translate about 2 questions though.
We got to the waiting room area at about 8:30, gave our appointment letter to the security guard and sat down. They called us until around 9:50. The room was rather cold, or maybe it was my nerves. We were finally called in by our IO, a short asian woman. She was rather serious, but seemed nice. We stepped into her office and before sitting down she administered the oath to us. Then we sat down and took out both of our passports and my driver's licens... read complete review

We had our interview on the 21st of September (Friday) in the early afternoon. We got there early and waited for more than 1 hour, but the interview itself was very quick (around 10-15 mins) and smooth. Except for the long wait before the interview, which we expected, everything else was quick, including parking, entering the building, going through security, and finding the waiting room, etc.
The staff at the LA office all seemed extremely professional and courteous. At no point were we without information or "lost". The waiting room was chilly, I'd advise bringing a cardigan/scarf.
All in all 4.5/5!!! Very pleased with the LA office!
