Overall, the experience was not as easy as we thought (Interview in Embassy was easier) since the Immigration Officer was pretty tough and questioned every documentation. We had more than enough documentation with both our names(electric bills, gas bills, mortgage statements, credit cards, photos). She did not believe that the birth certficate was real but we had to explain to her that that is how it is done in C's country. She also questioned why C's name was not on the bank statement (we have paperless statements where it does not state the name). We provided a letter from the bank with both our names, ATM card with the same account number and cashed checks (has both our names) with C's signature and she said that wasn't sufficient. She also stated that we did not properly change the name correctly after marriage (we did it correctly). Moreover, she questioned why passport photos were not sent in for both us (I thought it was only for the person for AOS, I got a passport photo made i... read complete review

All in all our experience here was fine. It did take a half an hour to actually get into the building, so plan ahead. Security was fine as long as you don't have a camera. The only problem I had (which is probably the same with all locations) was that we had an appointment for 8am and assumed that meant we'd actually be seen at that time. We were made to wait with about 50 other people who also had 8am appointments for an hour before we were actually seen. Our interview was fine- took about 20 minutes. It was far more casual than I expected and the questions were asked in a more conversational manner than being grilled. They tell you at the end of the appointment whether you've received your green card which is nice because you aren't left to wonder.

Very smooth and professional interview at LA office. Waited for interviewer for about 1.5 hours but then the interview was quick and the IO very friendly and kind. Passport not stamped but letter of acceptance provided, which states that GC would be with us within 90 days.
Questions asked were mainly basic: name, address etc. Our wedding album(s) were a clincher with the IO commenting on how expensive they looked (they weren't!) and it seemed to make a big difference that our families were so involved in everything.

Our interview was a breeze. The interview lasted about 10 minutes. The IO was very nice.We were well prepared for the interview. We had so many documents. Examples of documents are joint bank account, joint executive costco membership, joint credit card account, joint 2008 tax return, life insurance policies, retirement paper rnaming her as my beneficiary, health insurance cards, house bills in both our names, vision (vsp) copayment recept in both our names.
Yes or no questions on I485.
The IO was a very nice man, very polite and professional. Of course, we had overwhelming evidence.
We were APPROVED.

Our appointment was sometime in the early morning and we came in with all our documents. We waited about 1.5 hours, then were asked to come up to the counter where the adjudicator conducted the interview. He had a really thick file (mine) in front of him which included my petition from a previous marriage 8 years before which ended with abandonment (that's another story). I came prepared to answer questions in relation to that and interestingly, most of his questions were directed to that first petition.
After answering every single questin, he started asking us about our present marriage and then reviewed the copies we brought with us. He made some copies for his file and then said that because they were shorthanded that morning and he wasn't exactly the one who made the decisions (I think it was right after labor day weekend or something), I would receive the decision within 30 days. He gave me an Infopass just in case I wouldn't hear from then within 30 days, a... read complete review
