We were scheduled to have the interview at 2pm. We arrived at the building at about 1:30 (we parked in a lot near by and walked over) and the security guard had everyone waiting in a line outside and was letting people go through security in waves. It was unclear as to how strictly the phone ban is enforced, since some of the people in front of us were called out to put their phone in their car, we simply turned ours off and when the guard ask to see them, he waved us through. The weird part was there were folks talking on the phone and texting in the waiting room. Security took about 10 minutes, then we got to the waiting room, the room was about 1/3 filled.
We waited for about 1.5 hours, basically, by the time it was our turn, there was no one left. The guard started chatting to us and apologized for the wait, he said some people for the 11 o'clock interviews came late and pushed everyone back. I asked him if there were no more interviews after us he said the 3 o'clock... read complete review

Our Interview was awesome! We waited for about an hour (that's the only part I don't like.) But, when we were finally seen, our interviewer was awesome. He was very standard. He asked all the standard questions and procedure-wise was on top of everything. He asked to see the originals of everything. He'd then check off his copies/list. Finally he asked to see proof of our relationship, he asked for co-bills, bank accounts, rental agreements, I nearly froze...because we have separate bank accounts and he doesn't drive so he's not on my insurance. I explained that quickly and he asked to see the pictures. We showed him wedding, honeymoon and every day type pics of me, my daughter and him as well as other members of my family and me with his family. We had a lot of that. We were also very organized and that helped get through everything quickly. He was satisfied and he approved him on the spot. We got a notice a week later with the approval. Yay!! ... read complete review

Hi everyone, I really need adives...i'm a new member of VJ...After i read a lot of stories in here. I feel very happy that i have someone to talk with and can give me idea...
My fiance went to interview on 2-17-09, and the counslate is unable to issue his a K-1 visa becasue they said his do not fulfill the eligiblity requirements which the consulate has determined, based on his testimony, documents and any other evidence, that we do not have a bona fide relatiohsip. Because of this, the consulate will return his case to the homeland security, CIS for review and possible revocation. It told serval month for CIS to recieve the case.
Finaly i got a letter for the U.S.Department of Homeland Security on 7-10-09 which is NOTICE OF DECSION. It said the petition was approved on 9-20-08 and was forwarded abroad to a U.S. Embassy/Consulate with validity period of four months. Subsequently, his case has been retured to the USCIS with a finding that the beneficiary wa... read complete review

Our appointment was at 1:45 although we got there at about 1:00. That turned out to be a good thing as it took us 30 minutes to get in the building because of security. Once we did get in, it was another one hour wait to get our interview. Our interviewer was an older woman, fairly cold and serious, and seldom smiled during our interview. Afterwards we were told to sit in the waiting room while the interviewer made copies of our documents. We thought things weren't going too well, but to our surprise, my wife was approved!
BTW it seems you can bring your cell phone into the building. I vaguely overheard as we were passing through security that cameras were forbidden but that cellphones were okay. In the waiting people I saw several people using their iphones/blackberries in plain view of the security guard.

We had our interview for AOS from F-1 student visa on September 1st, 2009. Our IO was Mr. Aguilar (maybe it was Aguilara?). Anyway, our appointment was for 11:15 a.m. and we got there around 10:30 a.m. as we were driving from 260 miles away and wanted to make sure we got there in plenty of time. We did wind up parking in the expensive lot right across the street from the Federal building. We were parked there less than 2 hours and it cost $15. But it's convenient and right there.
We went up to the 8th floor and had to find room 8108 (or was it 8101). Anyway, 8th floor and it's to the left of elevators. We had to go to Window #1 and leave our interview notice in a box at the window. We were called to Door 2 shortly after 11:15 a.m. Mr. Aguilar was very pleasant and easy going, he was a younger guy. He swore us in and then asked me to present all original vital documents (birth certs, marriage cert, divorce certs, etc.) He compared what I gave him to what he saw ... read complete review
