Nota bene: The immigration officer has apparently familiarized himself with our case. He didn't ask for my husband's birth certificate, passport, or any proof of U.S. citizenship. He didn't even mention anything that related to affidavit of support. The IO didn't care to ask for W-2s, 1040s, pay stubs, letter of employment, etc. although I brought them all. He must have seen those documents and forms from our initial submission. I believe that he was particularly assigned to us and was selected for a reason by the higher ranks way ahead of time. He has been to the Philippines more than once and commented that he knew my hometown Cebu even before I found out such a place existed.
When my AOS journey began, I hoped a lot for my case to be moved to CSC so that I wouldn't have an interview. I just learned one day that applicants residing in California rarely or do not get transferred to CSC. On February 24 this year, I received my interview letter with the date March... read complete review

From Andrea (USC):This review is for 300 N. Los Angeles St, Room 4337. I don't know if there are different offices for interviews, so if you are scheduled for here I hope this helps demystify and allays any worries you might have for your big day!
INTERVIEW PREP: Regarding our interview, we were justifiably anxious, you know, our future only depended on this meeting! We read as many reviews as we could about people's interviews in LA and just prepared as well as we could. My brother and his British wife had their interview here in LA and while their circumstances were different... read complete review

Overall a good experience (because we were approved at interview!) When we got there there was a long line outside the building (in the rain!) to wait to get through security inside the building and we stood out there for about a half hour. We arrived to the interview room 10-15 minutes prior to our appointment time and handed our notice at the window. We then waited over 2 hours before our name was called. The interview itself was about 25-30 minutes. The IO was pleasant and extremely thorough. They asked us many, many questions -- mostly about our relationship, family, engagement, honeymoon, what we had for dinner last night, etc. etc.
Parking in the lot across the street is $16. If you don't know the area well arrive early and allow time to get lost (lots of oneway streets and some traffic).
