The interview went very smooth and well. It only took us about 20 minutes before the officer told us that we would be getting the green card by mail in 2 weeks time.
The only comment he made was that we didn't show enough evidence of us being together, since we only brought our wedding pictures and health insurance statement. But then I told him that how would it be possible for me to get any bank accounts since I don't even have my EAD and SSN, thus it limits my capability to do so much.
I asked him if he knows what's going on with my EAD, since it's been 6 months that I've applied. He wasn't able to answer, instead, he told me just to ignore the card, since I'll be getting a GC after all! Oh yeah, it's easy to say when you are not the one who's paying $180 for the EAD

Hello to all vj readers, I used to follow the forums and promised myself to share my experience of the entire interview process. I live in Las Vegas and noticed that none of my fellow vegans have ever posted their experience (or maybe I missed it). Anyway, so here goes..
Our interview was scheduled on 11/28 at 7:15am. We hired a lawyer to do all filing etc.. So we met with him outside DHS building and walked in at exactly 7:00am. While waiting at the "lobby" our lawyer advised us that if they asked any question that we forgot the answer, "it's ok to say I forgot" take note: our lawyer is a former immigration judge so he knows how the system goes. I have overstayed in the US for a long time and worked full time. When we did a consultation with our lawyer he asked me if I ever worked in the US, so I said yes. Back in the lobby, while waiting, he also told us "not to lie". So then we got called in by a young man, early thirties and was very friendly. I thought he would just usher i... read complete review

My AOS interview was on August 6, 2007 at 1:45pm at USCIS Las Vegas Local Office. We arrive at 1:30pm, we parked on the street because the building has a limited parking space and no available space for us. We enter the building and submit to xray inspection,i gave my appointment letter, my passport and my husband's driver's license to the guard. After checking he returned my passport and my husband's driver's license and told us to have a seat and the Immigration Officer will call us in a moment. There are few couples already waiting on the waiting area. After 15 minutes a female Immigration Officer called my name, so we stand up and followed her. She let us swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth before starting. She was very nice, she asked for my passport and my husband's drivers license, our birth certificates(originals). Then she check it on her folder and returned the documents to us but she took out the I-94.Then asked for documents that we have our names together and... read complete review

Our interview was very simple, we got a very nice female immigration officer. She only asked questions about 'how did we met", "if i was married before", "do we have children", she also aked questions about the things that i filled up on the forms. She asked for the documents that we have our names together, i gave her our health insurance, my husband's 401K showing me as benificiary, we dont have joint bank account together since my EAD came on the mail just on the day of my interview. After a few conversation she said she is approving our application and the GC will come on the mail in 2 weeks.. Yeheyyy
