Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was pretty straight forward. I was pregnant at the time of interview and was showing quite a bit. My husband and I both were called in separately in the room. First they called in my husband (US citizen) then they called me in.

I had prepared and taken so many documents with me but they never asked to look at pictures or anything. They didnt ask us much anyway.

Excellent experience. Walked in, went through airport-type security (jarring if you are not used to it) sat down and waited for about 10 minutes until we realized we had to get up and check in at a nondescript, busy-looking window among other windows. Handed her the interview I-797 form and was called back by our interviewer after about 5 minutes. Interviewer was pleasant, at ease which put us at ease, and we were finished in 20 minutes. Parking is hard to find as it is a busy site, but people are always coming and going so drive around and you'll find one in about 5 minutes.

We took tons of paperwork (bank statements in both names, phones in both names, car title in both names, photos); the lady looked at some of it (esp. car title). She asked when was the last time we had spoken with my husbands parents, and spoke separately with each of us. I said something about hoping that this was the last time that I have to do this, and she must have understood something about doing the paperwork. I clarified that I meant that I wanted our marriage to last, given the 50% divorce rates.

Review Topic: General Review

Be prepared for NO PARKING. We got there early for biometrics appointment. I dropped husband off and drove around the tiny lot for about 30 minutes until something opened up. Went up with young daughter to an almost empty waiting room. Be prepared for feeling like you are going through security to go on a plane. The people today were not friendly Told them I was there to wait for husband but was put through like a second class citizen. After the obstacle course was done, I shook my head and rolled my eyes. Good think though, my husband was in and out before the assigned time of his appointment! Took only 10 minutes.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I recently had my AOS interview at the Indianapolis office. My wife and I had to park a couple of blocks away because the visitors lot was full. We arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment, which began almost exactly on time - we were surprised considering how busy the office was. The office itself has plenty of seating and is reasonably comfortable.

The immigration officer was very pleasant to talk to. My wife and I were interviewed together (which I wasn't counting on based on past reviews) and the whole thing lasted no more than 20 minutes. She reviewed the information that I had submitted on my application, and I was asked when I had entered the US, and some general questions about our wedding. She also looked over the documents that I brought with me (bills, photos etc.). Sooner than I had anticipated, the officer congratulated us and told me that my card should arrive in a month or so.
