My AOS Interview was very straightforward with no trick questions, the IO was very professional and polite. My application was approved on the spot.

Pretty much typical of any government style building, nothing special about the waiting room. We had a 12pm appointment time for the interview, arrived around 11:45am. Ended up waiting for about 2 hours, and finally got called to interview around 2pm. The officer was nice enough and professional with her questions, generally friendly and asked the questions we expected to get so no problems with the interview itself.

One major complaint though is that the officer said that she couldn't process the AOS until she recieved a new medical, as the one submit with the application was out of date (over a year old.) While this is not her fault, I am disappointed that USCIS doesn't make it more clear that the medical would need to be resubmit as we could have done that prior to the interview and brought it with us at the time...

My husband had his interview today in Houston. He was recommended for approval.

His appointment was at 7:15 am at the new USCIS office on Gears Road. We got there almost an hour early and waited in the parking lot. Lots of parking available. We went on in about 7 am. Security was similar to airport security, although we were able to leave our shoes on, thank goodness. The waiting area is actually pretty large, with plenty of seating and monitors showing the civics test questions and the like. Be aware there is no phone or electronic device usage in the lobby--a couple of people were loudly reprimanded by the receptionists and security guards on this issue. There were a good number of people there, some for Infopass appointments and others for interviews, but really it is quite spacious. We saw several large groups or families together. My advice is to wear a watch, and bring a book or magazine.

I brought a huge bag containing all the stuff we had sent in s... read complete review

Interview was scheduled at 11:00 AM. We arrived around 10:30 AM. We were called in around 10:45, the officer lady took us to the office, sworn us in and started asking some questions like birth dates of each other, when we got married (my wife made a mistake here she said July but immediately rectified) I was asked about my signature. My wife says we were asked if we had a garage and if we had a garage opener (I can't remember this, it was probably after the wedding date and that stressed me out). It was very fast, then she asked if we had credit cards in common (we do,too many in my opinion) but we gave her all including a AAA card and a SAMS card. Then she asked to put on top everything else we had while she was making copies of the credit cards. We had mortgage papers, statements, bills, but I forgot to bring copies, :-( but since I had the packet we sent we were able to get some of the copies from there and well the bills can get a copy from the internet, then she said that that w... read complete review

The IO was polite, not too friendly but also not to stern. He seemed quiet mannered and of minimal expressiveness. He came off as professional and impartial. He asked us a few questions about each other, required that we only answer questions asked directly to either of us, saw some of the pictures which we took to the interview, asked that we choose 10 to leave with our file, talked to us bit more about how we met and our story and then made a positive comment about our legitimacy, which we didn't know how to interpret because we were admittedly nervous. Then smiled and we understood it was meant in good faith and not with any undertones of sarcasm or to catch our reaction. He then said he had approved us on the spot and we could expect the GC in the mail in two weeks or so. Overall a positive experience and good review for the office, one reads all these horror stories of worst case scenarios so naturally one is nervous because these interviews are such a big deal. There isn't much t... read complete review
