Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Hello all,
Just wanted to give back to the community that I used to help me prepare and get through my Visa interview. I read the reviews of the Houston USCIS office before I went in myself with my wife. Overall a great experience and looking back I didn't have to be nervous. We had prepared a lot of documentation and used a binder with plastic sleeves, divided into 10 sections total. Everything from inital application to call logs, bills, leases, etc. We had 2 albums, one for the wedding and one for the friends/family/places we went over the 2 years.

Our interview was on Jan 11th 2019. We had a lawyer as well so he was present during the interview. The following is what happened
1. Metal detector and security check
2. sign in at front office with interview notification letter
3. Waited...and waited....and waited but we got called in approx 2 hours after the scheduled time. We knew that this may be the case, so wasn't concerned.
4. Off... read complete review

Our appointment was at 12:45 pm. Arrived at the USCIS office around 11:40. Waited about an hour. The officer was very chill and nice. She asked not too many questions. Asked questions like "where did you guys meet" "Have you met each other's parents?" She added some information on the application and told us that it will take about 2 weeks or so to get the green card. She did not approve it right away but our USCIS online status has changed to case was approved.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I had our I-485 Application for Permanent Residence or Adjustment of Status interview today at the Houston USCIS office. Our scheduled appointment was 10:55am. We arrived at 9:45am because we live in South Houston towards Galveston and we didn't want to be late due to traffic. When we arrived, we had to empty out our pockets and walk through metal detectors airport-style. Then we had to check in using our Notice of Action. We were told our names would be called on the Intercom and that we'd be seeing our agent at Door #1.

We waited, and waited, and waited. We saw other couples arrive and they were called before us. This Houston office seems to have two calling systems going on at the same time: 1) People who were inquiring about the status of their case were on a ticket system where their number would be called and they would be directed to a specific window; 2) People who were there for an interview were called by their name on the Intercom (you wouldn't... read complete review
