Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Location a little hard to find (last turn not labeled but building is labeled well). Short wait until we were called in. The agent was very nice and was appreciative that we sent in enough data, which was well organized-- Thanks VJ!!! He got a stamp in his passport, which is as good as a green card until it arrives. She said her approval will be entered into the computer today and she's heard the card arrives in as little as 3 days. Pretty straightforward questioning- parent's names, birthplaces, birthdays, etc. Pictures with the documentation helped too.

Interview appointment was at 11am but we got there at around 10:40. After a quick security check of your bags at the entrance, you'll be led to a waiting room. Dropped the appointment letter at the glass window, the attendant gave me a form to fill out and sat down to wait for my name to be called.

An officer called us in after a few minutes, I wasn't even done filling out the form. We were then led to her office then took an oath that we telling the truth. Asked us factual questions, mostly from the forms we submitted - name, birthdays, address, etc. Asked for the petitioner's driving license, beneficiary's EAD/AP (combo card), passport, old passports and evidence of marriage - gave her a copy of our apartment lease contract and statements of joint account with BOTH our names. She kept the evidence documents in file, she detached and kept the I-94 from the passport; the rest were handed back. Don't forget to bring COPIES of the evidence documents. We showed her all of ... read complete review

The presiding IO was very pleasant and professional, she treated my husband and I with respect. She did not give a final decision on the spot, but when we got home we checked the USCIS website and the case status was already in card production!

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We went for our Interview on November 15th. I had everything they requested and then some. The lady who interviewed us asked us to state our full names, birth dates, addresses and a few other questions. She then asked the same of my daughter. Then she questioned me a bit on my daughter's father (who is not listed on her birth certificate and is not in her life). She even insisted she needed his name. She then stated that our medical was incomplete but couldn't tell us why and wanted to contact the civil surgeon. We were left with the impression that if she had her question answered everything would be fine. We received a RFE last week and we had the civil surgeon then fix the vaccine part of the I693. The civil surgeon indicated that the particular officer we had sends everyone back to her. So now we wait again. I wish they had better communication. The interview was fine but now we wait nervously!
