Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Interview was scheduled at 11:00 AM. We arrived around 10:30 AM. We were called in around 10:45, the officer lady took us to the office, sworn us in and started asking some questions like birth dates of each other, when we got married (my wife made a mistake here she said July but immediately rectified) I was asked about my signature. My wife says we were asked if we had a garage and if we had a garage opener (I can't remember this, it was probably after the wedding date and that stressed me out). It was very fast, then she asked if we had credit cards in common (we do,too many in my opinion) but we gave her all including a AAA card and a SAMS card. Then she asked to put on top everything else we had while she was making copies of the credit cards. We had mortgage papers, statements, bills, but I forgot to bring copies, :-( but since I had the packet we sent we were able to get some of the copies from there and well the bills can get a copy from the internet, then she said that that w... read complete review

The interview went well. The interviewing officer asked my fiancee basic questions like how we met and what her family members names were. I showed the officer my wife's social security card, her passport and her EAD card. She made copies of them. She asked me if I had any supplemental evidence. I showed her a copy of the apartment lease that has both of our names on it. I showed her bank statements from our joint account for the past several months and my health insurance card that includes my fiancee as a beneficiary. I also gave her a bunch of pictures from our wedding and honeymoon. She then looked through our file and scanned our I-864 affidavit of support that we submitted and the employment letter that was included. Also she looked at the medical information that was done before the embassy interview as well as the supplemental I-693. Finally she told us that they need to do one more check and she should be approved shortly. The interview was about 15-20 minutes. Go... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Had my interview on May 23, 2013 at the Houston office and wanted to share my experience since this site helped me out by reading others' experiences. I need to state that I entered the US under the Visa Waiver Program as a minor over 15 years ago. I'm a British citizen and recently married my US citizen husband.

Our appt was at 9:30am and we arrived at about 9am. There were quite a number of people waiting but there seemed to be a lot of Immigration officers at work. We were called in at about 9:30am and were interviewed by a lady. Once we got to her office, she swore us in before we took our seats. Then she asked us for our driver's licenses and asked me for my passport.

She started off with the I-130 and directed most of the questions to my husband. She asked him to state his name, date of birth and address. Then she asked him to state my full name and date of birth. She then proceeded to ask him how we met and if I've ever been married. And when we fi... read complete review
