AOS Interview | Honolulu
ZERO Harassment!!!
It was amazing, just amazing.
Was out of the office in 30min, and by the time I got back home, in another 30 min- the status was updated on USCIS website, card production in order.
One of the many greatest days of my life!!!
The process: easy.
We fret and sweat about all the details, compiling papers, and pictures, and all they care about is how much the two people in front of them love and know about each other.
I took with me a pile of papers, proof of relationship, but the officer asked for nothing, just a general name, DOB, address verification form the I-485 application, and asking both of us, how we met, and how did our relationship progress, why we decided to marry each other, how and where did we do it, and how many family members we both have met with on either side.
They can read the love between two peopl... read complete review

We arrived at the USCIS office about an hour before our appointment. At the window we were asked for our appointment letter, which was date/time stamped and returned to us along with a number. We were directed to walk down a hallway and wait until our number was called. There was one other couple waiting there also. About 10 minutes later a lady came out and called our number. Our impression was that she was very pleasant and easy going. She asked us to follow her to her office and swore us in before we sat down.
The interview lasted about 15 minutes. She first asked for my wife’s passport (the applicant) and my ID. She examined both, then removed the I-94 from the passport and returned them to us. She then explained the conditional permanent residence is granted for a two year period and we must file Form I-751 during the 90 day period prior to expiration. She had us sign an acknowledgement that we understood this requirement.
Then she started... read complete review

Well, we're not entirely sure but we think it should be ok.
The interview was at 10.15 AM but we were there at around 10.05 AM. After about 10 to 15 minutes, our number was called and we met the immigration officer who would take our interview. The first impression that we got from this man was very nice, he didn't make a strict impression but seemed to be a bit more relaxed.
First he took our oath and then explained how things would take place, he would mostly look if everything was in order and he would ask questions on base of the forms. He also explained that there might be moments in which nothing would be said but we shouldn't be worried about that as he might still be writing certain things down.
He mostly asked us some general questions, like on which address we lived, when we met, how that this was, when we got married, if I had children (and that was a "yes, one, but there will be two soon" after which he congratulated us) and more... read complete review

We have found that all our dealing with the local CIS office have been very cordial and professional. Our AOS interview was very easy. It helps if you have all your paper work well organized all the way from I-129F submission for a K-1 on. The interviewer just asked a few basic questions, how, where and when we met, how my wife liked living in the area, what she was doing (taking English classes helped). They didn't even question my finances or anything.

If you are married you can answer all the questions (common hobbies, when met the spouse parents etc) easily. Officer wanted to see and photocopy rental agreement, health insurance policy and joint bank account. No pics whatsoever. In and out in 30 minutes.
