We had our AOS interview yesterday at the Detroit Field office and we got approved on the Spot . Our appointment is at 11:20AM and we reached there and passed through the security around 11:00. And we waited in the large waiting area for about 40 minutes until the Office called my name for the interview. The IO is a very sweet middle aged white lady and she appeared to have gone through my application thoroughly and the moment we walked into her office, she said she doesn't have any questions about the validity of my marriage and she just need to verify some basic information and she would approve my green-card. Everything went very smooth. She just verified the stuff on the forms like my DOB, parents names, current address and when i came into US, what visa statuses i had and so on. And then the mandatory YES/NO questions from form I-485. And then she asked my wife if its her signature on the forms and she checked with me about my signatures as well. The interview lasted for about ... read complete review

Upon entry, we passed through airport-style security and checked in at the reception desk. We had arrived about 20 minutes early and were asked to sit in the large waiting area. The waiting area was large and airy, with a children's area in the corner that had PBS Kids on TV.
We did have to wait about 45 minutes after our appointment time to be called in, but it was close to the end of the day so delays may have piled up. The officer who called us in was polite and efficient, and she presented all information clearly. It was clear she had gone through our case prior to the interview. We went through the applications to confirm our answers to the questions and were asked to provide a few original versions of documents for which we submitted copies. The officer informed us that while the evidence was sound and our case was solid, she wasn't explicitly granting approval at that moment. Some details required a final verification, which she intended to do immediately upon con... read complete review

A woman called my name and my wife and I went in. She asked us to verify our names, address and date of birth. I had a giant file with all of our information and proof of relationship and she didn't even touch it. We were told that the green card would arrive in a couple weeks. We were in the office for less than 10 minutes. Our appointment was at 1:10pm, we got there early and were called in at 12:55pm and we were in the car on our way home by 1:08pm.
