Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had a 10am interview scheduled for my wife. After going through security and checking in (they still hadn't updated their clock for DST at the front desk), we went to the big waiting area. After about 30 minutes my wife's name was called and we met the interviewer and went back to her office. She started with the swearing in then began verifying the basic 485 information. My wife was quite nervous, but she relaxed after the interviewer started going through all the 485 yes/no questions. I could see her start to smile and settle down. She asked us how we met and let me tell the story, but my wife added a lot. She asked for additional information that was not in the original 485 submission, so we gave her my step-son's birth certificate (copy) along with the translation, several photos, insurance information, bank statements, and latest income tax forms. Overall everything went well. She made a copy of my wife's EAD card, then handed us a no decision notice, but explained eve... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was scheduled for December 10th at 1:35 pm. We arrived at 12:45 and went into the building. We went through metal detector then checked in. We were instructed to sit in a large room with about 100 chairs and that they would call us by name. Since we were early we knew we would have to wait. We were called around 1:45 for our interview. We were walked back and the CO swore us in. She then went over my husbands forms and double checked some info (his SSN, birthday, parents names and if he had been a citizen in any other country) She asked if we were still at the same address. She then asked my husband some of the AOS questions on the form like if he was part of any gangs, mafia, killing anyone, been arrested. She then asked my husband how we met and he explained. She then asked me about our relationship and what my husband likes to do for hobbies, I answered. She then asked my husband about our relationship and if I had any hobbies, he answered. She noticed we were living c... read complete review

Had a 7:45 AM schedule and arrive there 7:30 AM. The lady check our Appointment Schedule and told us to go to the waiting area and wait for our names to be called. After about 15 mins of waiting my name was called and the gentleman led us to a room where he told us to sit and asked for our passport(mine and daughter), my husband's ID and my Work Authorization/Advance Parole Card. He then started to ask just basic questions like Name, Birthdate, Address, POE, Date of Entry to US. He also asked the YES or NO questions from the AOS form. After that he told us that we were Approved and if we would like to check our status online later that day he said it will be updated by then already. He also discuss to us about the Removal of Conditions and finally he told us to expect the green card in 2 weeks. The Interview just took 15 minutes the most.

Overall, the experience is GREAT! The people in the facility are all nice and professional from the Guards/Security to the Officer wh... read complete review

I went to the green card interview with my husband to our local USCIS office in Detroit. All staff were very polite and we were called in almost immediately after we arrived. Asked standard questions about how we met, asked me about my husband's name, DOB, hobbies. The immigration officer was making notes in our file at the time we answered. Many of the documents that I brought to the interview were not needed, such as our pictures and utility bills. However, the documents confirming our living together (fitness club membership, country club membership, insurance documents, tickets/bookings for the trips we made together since we got married, etc.) were all collected and attached to our immigration file. officer informed that my green card is approved and provided detailed explanations as to timeframes, lifting conditions etc. The Positive experience overall.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appt was at 7:45am and we arrived at 7:30. We were called back on time (waiting area was virtually empty!) A nice lady walked us wayyyyyy back to the interview room. We made small talk about the weather, etc. She was flipping through our file and verifying data with my husband. Questions she asked him were things like "What are your parents names?" "What city were you born in?" "What city was your daughter born in?" "What was the date you last entered the US?" Very general with no questions being asked to me, the US Citizen. She then said she was going to take a moment and remove a few duplicate items from our file. The last question asked was, "So you met while you were volunteering at a dental clinic, huh?" I replied yes and we talked a little about the foundation I volunteered with. After that my husband and step daughter were welcomed to the USA and we were told how things would work when we needed to remove conditions on their 2-yr green cards. She did ask if there ... read complete review
