We got there about 12.45 and my appointment was at 1. We got called in at probably around 1.10pm, our I.O made no eye contact whatsoever, he was an older white man probably around 70 years old. Real old school, looked like an ex-cop. I thought 'man, this isn't what I was hoping for..' and I was (sort of) right!
He swore us in and began grilling us fairly quickly. Finding any small discrepancy in our application, there's a bit where it LOOKED like it asked us to list any kids from our relationship, so we didn't list any. My wife has kids, my step-kids, but we genuinely thought it was asking for children of this marriage. So he really looked us over on that one.
He asked for any documentation with our names on it together - we gave him our sublease agreement with our names on it as proof of residency, and a college registration form that has me listed as a spouse. We told him that was what we were able to get hold of with no SSN etc, and he very sternly said... read complete review

Well, tried to do a walk-in filing of a N-400 for my family. Showed up at the scheduled appointment time and they stated that you cannot walk-in and file also the lady that gave us the wait number looked at me as if I had two heads and looked discussed and couldn't believe I was even their.
Then I went to the window when called and the lady wouldn't even look at the paperwork and was rushed to tell us to go and mail the application.
Has anyone else had the same problem? If they don't take walk-ins they shouldn't give appointments because people will not be to happy if they are expecting such a service.

We arrived at the office about 7:10am. Waited to go in until 7:30am, and our appointment was for 8am. Lots of people upstairs, and the restaurant-style buzzers were NOT in use. We were called in to see ISO Nunez at 8:40am.
We were sworn in, and then the ISO reviewed our paperwork. She had all of the originals, but I had brought copies of everything if needed. She kept looking at my copies, making sure they matched the original, and giving my copies back to me.
At one point, she did the "are you now or have you ever been..." questions with my wife, pretty much as a one-breath thing. The only thing my wife questioned was "weapons training" since she had been to the gun range with me. We explained that it wasn't "formal" training, and we continued.
She took the I-94 from my wife's passport. She left the J-1 visa in the old passport, but she reviewed both the old and new passport. (My wife's passport expired while she was here, and she ... read complete review

Our appointment was on 08/13/2011 at the Irving CIS at 8:30am. We got there about an hour early, and we tried to enter the building 45 mins. before our appointment, but security told us to come back at 8am. So, we waited til 8, then we were let in. Security was very friendly. He checked our Appointment Letter and let us go through the security scanner. We didn't take in our cell phones, but I did see clients with their phones in the waiting area. There are no signs saying you can't bring them in, so that's cool for people who want to kill a little time while waiting. We were told to go upstairs and give Appointment Letter to the receptionist. She took the letter and told us to wait. There were about 20 or so people waiting, so we figured we would be there for awhile. I was sort of nervous, but my hubby was cool. We were called about 9:30a by a very nice adjudicator. We stepped into his office, were he introduced himself. He asked us for my husband's passport and my driver's license, th... read complete review
