The immigration officer was pure joy to deal with. We were scared and anxious, but she wanted to know why we had waited 11 years to file. I told her I couldn't sponsor him until recently and how we were once told by an immigration attorney that he would be deported if he tried to file for AOS after overstaying. She told us she felt like she should have served tea because of the nice chat and approved us on the spot!

(just a re-post of a relied to a forum question)
I just had my interview today in Chicago. It was a very good and fast experience. Like you, I wasn't exactly sure what to bring and like most I over compensated, but better safe than sorry right.
My interviewer asked for less then 30% of what I brought! We were in the room together with our 11 month old. What was asked for: Both IDs (drivers license) both passports, His birth certificate, my US Naturalization certificate, our child's birth certificate and he asked if I was still employed, I offered my last two pay stubs as proof (he didn't actually request these but I offered and he added them to the file). In terms of documentation, the photocopies of all these were on file but he just wanted to see the originals.
I had so much other information included lots of evidence of a viable relationship but nothing else was asked for. In terms of interview questions, he asked us how and where we ... read complete review
