Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We finally had our interview yesterday in the Chicago Field office. per usual, you go through security similar to the airport, get ready to take off your shoes. we go upstairs 2nd floor to check in, the receptionist and guard were very friendly and joked with us when i didn't say good morning, trying to keep us relaxed a bit.

Our appointment was at 11:45, we arrive 11:30 and waiting until 12:30 to go in. so prepare to wait at least an hour, we weren't sure if their lunch break was the reason of delay. there were multiple officers taking people in, i think i counted 5 or 6. ours was a young female, she was nice but still a bit stand-offish. We took our Oath, she took my hubby's fingerprints and both our IDs, his passport. first thing she asked about was his medical because it wasn't in the packet which i did submit. whatever i made her a copy of our original ones, she asked for the original, there goes that!! now I'm stuck with a copy which I hope it's not needed anymore... read complete review

Our male IO was very straightforward & professional. He asked us basic question like our names, dob, address, wedding date.
The usual AOS sample question interview like when did you meet your spouse, provide evidence of your bonafide marriage (photos, insurance) and I-485 yes/no questions.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Had our marriage based AoS this spring. Office was nice and well-run; desk persons and security were friendly and tried to joke to take the edge off.

Officer was very nonchalant and to-the-point. No warmth. It was almost theatrical in the bureaucratic performance! Flipping through file pages at random with seemingly no rhyme or reason.

We were asked for our passports and to confirm our full names and address. He confirmed our employment and employer addresses. We were asked our wedding date. My husband was asked when he entered the country. We had filled out an inadmissability waiver in advance and he said “I see you submitted a waiver. What’s that about?” Husband answered and was asked to provide a copy of his original i94.

My husband (beneficiary) was then asked some questions from the form including about an arrest (charge dismissed) and IO asked for a copy of the record of non-suit, which he provided. Othe... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our interview at the Chicago Field Office this morning. We dressed nicely, not fancy, but cute sweaters cause it was grey and rainy and gross, and dress slacks, and sneakers cause neither one of us is so vested in making a good impression we're walking 4 miles in Chicago in the cold and wet in heels! 😂

We walked in, went through security, up to the second floor and were pointed to the check in window by a very sweet, very cheerful guard. They asked if we were waiting on a lawyer or translator (no), then stamped our interview letter, gave us a receipt with a number on it, and told us to go sit by door 1. We got there at 9:11, our interview was at 9:30. By the time we got in, got through security, and got checked in, it was 9:25. At 9:36, our IO came out (not from door 1, I'd like to point out, but from the 'emergency exit only' door at the other end of the wall 😂) and called our number.

We got let into his office, and he had our file ... read complete review
