Well, it could have gone better, could have gone worse. I don't think the officer QUITE understood that an RCMP certificate from one area covered every other area in the entire country of Canada. She wants Terry to get his records from the town he was arrested in at 15 in spite of us already having a paper stating that he has no record. She also said that because it was from last year, 2004, it was too old to use so we needed to get a background check from our city police here too. Anyway, we went and got that one today but the RCMP, of course, doesn't want to send him anything without him being there in person with ID to apply and he, of course, can't leave to go up there and request it because a) we never bothered with the AP and B) we don't have the money for a plane ticket! So he's gonna get ahold of the consulate here and see what they can do and he talked to someone at the RCMP in Raymond where he was arrested and they told him to maybe go down to the police station here and have... read complete review

Hi everyone!
I went for my fingerprints and biometrics on Saturday, May 21st in Charlotte NC. It only took about 1/2 hour and everyone was great!!!! I had the best fingerprinting guy ever!!! If you have your fingerprints in Charlotte look for him - he is a thin Oriental guy (probably mid to late 40's)....he was very very nice!!!
I received an email on Monday, May 23rd saying I was approved.
I hope everyone else's fingerprints go as well as mine did.

At fingerprints and biometrics in Charlotte today, we were at first not allowed in since her passport had her maiden name and her receipt(NOA) is in her new last name. I said that I had asked this question while making the appt, and I was told this would not be problem. We showed teh Social Security Card in her new last name. They did not accept that as identification (must be a picture id). Then they asked for a marriage certificate (which is not a picture id - go figure). I said that the certificate was sent in with the application, otherwise we would not have gotten the NOAs in the first place.
The gatekeeper went back and talked to the CIS official, then came back 5 minutes later and let us in. While my wife was getting the fingerprints done, the technician doing the prints asked for a marriage certificate. My wife told him that it was sent in with the application. He nodded and simply continued and finished all her biometrics (for both EAD and AOS).

So I had my AOS interview today, at 10 am in Charlotte.
We had to rent a car, because Jason's piece of crap car would never make it all the way there without breaking down at least twice. It's been doing that a lot lately. I have long been suspecting that he has some really obscure form of Munchausen by proxy projected onto his vehicles because we've really never had a car that worked right for longer than 2 weeks, but I digress :P
We were up until 1, making copies of stuff and then sorting everything. Then we got up at 5, that was quite painful. We left Asheville at about 6, just to make sure we would be on time. The rental car did great and I had a nap in the passenger seat. We pulled into the Tyvola Center place just after 8, and decided that since we now knew where it was and had some time to kill we'd go get some breakfast. We ate biscuits at the Bojangles down the road (I think everyone waiting for an appointment goes there :-p)
We... read complete review
