Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Hi! I did my AOS from a K1 visa and this happened at Boston office:

1. We were split for the interview.
2. the petitioner went first with the officer and had to handle any additional or new document to him.
3. we both were asked three questions: 1. how did we meet ? 2. Who made coffee this morning? 3. when did we think about marriage?
4. interview lasted 10 minutes

Approved on the spot.

Overall, a very pleasant, straightforward experience! Our officer was friendly and would laugh at our jokes. The only drawback would be the long wait times.... we arrived at 10am for our 10:30 appointment, and didn't leave until noon. She brought us in together for the interview -- we took that as a good sign! However, I couldn't answer when questions were directed to my husband and vice versa. That was a little tricky since my husband kept looking at me for confirmation whenever he answered a question lol. But after 2-3 questions we got the gist. After swearing us in, we were asked:

- Each others' birthdays, parents' names and residence, educational background, graduation dates
- How we met, when we got officially together, engagement date, when we got married, why we picked that particular date, who attended, where we celebrated after etc.
- If we've met each other parents (we haven't met everybody due to geographical constraints), and why

We had our interview in November and it was pretty quick. We were not separated during the interview. Most likely because we had our newborn son with us, and it was the best proof of the relationship. The officer asked many questions from the I-485 form to my husband, and then some extra questions. Some were repeated several times, like when did he entered US, when did we get married and if he has been working in the US. Felt like the officer is trying to catch my husband by mixing up dates or something. Anyway, within 15 minutes it was all over and we were approved. Overall, good experience
