We were very lucky to work with a great group of people here in Boston. Everyone at the office was very kind and making jokes with us to make us feel welcome and at ease. The interview took about 30 minutes and the immigration office was nice and had a sense of humor. They first interviewed me (the US Citizen and petitioner). I also provided the last 2 months of pay stubs to prove my continued employment and a copy of my health insurance showing that she is covered under my policy. No questions were asked. The interviewer went over our I-485 application form and made sure nothing has changed. Got approval right away and USCIS website got updated as "New card is being produced" after we left the office.

Interview was scheduled for 9:30, we were called at 9:45 and the three of us (petitioner, beneficiary, attorney) went in together, they didn't separate us. The actual "interview" part lasted less than 10 minutes: we were asked how we met, to which we both added information, how we decided to start dating, and a couple of things about our wedding. That was it. The rest was the mandatory yes/no questions at the end of the I-485 form, and talking about how to get a walk-in Infopass appointment to get an I-551 temporary stamp since I had travel plans, leaving the US three days after the interview. The officer was very courteous and polite.
I went in the next day for the I-551 stamp. They give out only a handful of walk-in appointments, first-come first-serve, as soon as the office opens, so being there very early paid off. I showed my plane ticket and receipt notice for the I-485 filing, the officer checked the status and said that because the green card was already in produ... read complete review
