Adjustment of Status from K1 Visa, Interview date 06/10/2021
The interviewer was friendly and patient. My USC husband and I were both in the room together, but my husband was instructed not to speak at all during the first part of the interview. Before the interview began we were asked to hand over any evidence we had brought for the interviewer to see as he would not accept any further documents from us later in the interview. Then the interviewer collected all our government issued cards (both our drivers licenses, my passport, my ead/ap card) and made copies for our file before returning them. After that the interview began with going over my I485 in detail. I was asked what seemed like every question I answered in the form, and my answers were compared to what I had written down when filing. Some additions and corrections were made (eg. my SSN was added, which I didn't yet have at the time of filing, and some boxes I had apparently forgotten to tick were ticked by th... read complete review

Interviewer said no need to be nervous that we were all only having a conversation but it was an intense conversation. Interviewer asked for the entire story of us meeting up to us being in front of him now. My husband is jamaican. He asked what my husband nick name in Jamaica was. He asked about my family and my husband's family. If there were any plans for kids in the future. When did my husband start working. What kind of work he did in Jamaica. At one point in the interview he told my husband not to look at me. He went through the original I-129 petition verifying information. Honestly I thought this interview was way more intense than the one at the Jamaican embassy.

I'm not going to give a good rating because we submitted all the requirements and the interviewer said my husband needed his medical examination (I-693). She found his vaccination sheet (3025) and it was submitted timely. For K1 process, a medical exam is not required if you submitted within 1 year of your exam overseas. Now his case is under review instead of receiving approval.
My husband came to US with K1 Fiance Visa and we submitted adjustment of status paperwork in Dec 2019.
The interviewer only took my husband into the room to be interviewed. The interview lasted over 45 minutes where she spent almost all of the time asking all the questions from the I-485.
The few questions she did ask:
When did you get married?
Where did you get married?
When did you arrive to the US?
How did you meet?
Is your wife pregnant (only because she saw me when she came out to call him in)?
