Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My appointment was on August 15, 2011 for AOS/AP biometrics. My husband and I got there half an hour early (they open at 8:00). Even if they were not open yet, a lady walked out and gave me a form so I could start ahead and save that time once they would be open. You will require to have your applications and alien # on hand (AOS/EAD/AP) to complete the form. Rest is very basic : name, height, weight, eye and hair color, etc.

Once they opened, we walked in with a bunch of other people who had gathered by the door. The security guard was friendly, asked to see my appointment letter and passport. We were assigned #1 and few seconds later I was called and went to a booth where a lady asked for my passport. She fingerprinted me on a scanner, took a photograph and had me sign on a digital pad. I was out no more than 10 minutes later. Staff is very efficient and friendly.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived at 1pm for a 1.20pm appointment. The security guards were very friendly and welcoming.
We were finally called in at 1.50pm by a very nice lady.
We did our oath and then she went over the information to check it was all correct. Apparently the G-325a said my husband was a British Citizen so she corrected this info and then proceeded to go through the questions on the I-485 all of which I had answered no too. (When we finally got back to the truck i checked my copied G-325a we had submitted and it definitely said my husband was a US citizen lol)
She actually asked about previous intent before I entered the USA and also questioned that we had married soon after I had entered and then asked if I had previously worked or voted in the USA.
Even though I had photographs and a file full of evidence all she wanted to see were the originals we had submitted for evidence of marriage such as bank statement and life insurance. Apart from that she was just ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My interview was scheduled at 10:35 a.m. this morning, but, like most of people here on VJ.com, I wanted to be there early in case, and also thinking that we might get called in early and get out of there early. And I was right!

First, we arrived at 10:10 a.m. Once we walked in after two glass doors, two armed security officers greeted us and asked for the interview letter, which I promptly presented. Then, IDs. Mine and my wife's.

After walking through the metal detector, we were told to sit in the waiting room till we get called in. When we walked in, it was empty. Nobody was before us. I don't know if anyone was already being interviewed before us, but it was empty.

Then, a male IO called my name and we were told to go down the hallway, followed by him, to his office, looking just like a regular boxed-in corner office. We were told to take a seat and asked to provide our IDs again and any types of cards issued by the U.S. government rega... read complete review

The Officer was extremely nice. She asked some questions that were already asked in the I-485 ('are you a terrorist?' kind of questions), then she asked for evidence of our marriage (copies of bank accounts, health insurance cards, car insurance cards). She didn't ask for pictures. Anyway, we were out of there in less than 30 minutes with a verbal approval. The guards up front were also the most cordial, nicest people you'd ever want to meet. Overall, it was a great, no stress experience. Did I say the Officer was extremely nice????

Appointment was at 8:00 am. Guards were nice. Walked through metal detectors and they even let us keep our cell phones on. Waited til 8:15 until we were called in. Our adjudicator never smiled, started off asking for BC's and then we including our interperetor were asked to raise our right hand and asked if we would be truthful. Asked for many docs which I made sure we had. I ws pretty nervous. She studied everything and was very meticoulous. Then she just told us when to expect our GC in the mail. The whole interview lasted about 1hr and she never congradulated us. That is ok as we are very happy living our lives together forever now and are free from USCIS for a couple years.
