The consulate did not keep the interview date that was scheduled. I had to call the Consulate and was informed they schedule their own appointments. The appointment itself was delayed. The Consular Officer was fair with her questions, but was almost trying to talk me out of the visa and marriage. She asked if my mother approved of the marriage and told me to go and re-think the decision with my family. Her reason was that many USA spouses are abusive and the marriages fail.

After a few days, I called the Consulate to return and collect my visa. After some pushing they finally issued the CR1 visa within a few days.
