All interviews for K-1 seem to be scheduled at 10 AM. My fiance arrived at 7:30, they reviewed her document stack at 11 and let everyone out to go to lunch. Finally at 3:30 she was interviewed but the transalator asked what was essentially the ethicity of my previous spouse instead of where she was born ( US ). There impression at that point was that I had not disclosed all information. This resulted in a a blue slip and we spent the next week preparing a package for review. To our delight the day it was submitted, she was asked to wait and 90 minutes later or so she was given the pink paper ( approval ) for VISA. The consulate people seemed relatively friendly but business like. Since we had success I cant complain.

never recieved paperwork. i had to call to get any information.
due to President Bush, the APEC Conference and Christmas holidays, it took longer than expected.

The process once the interview date was recieved was smooth

best advice..... get all the paperwork done as soon as possible. DO NOT WAIT FOR THE PAPERWORK TO COME TO YOU. GET IT DONE ASAP (less stress that way)

Interview went very quick. Some questions were: Are you a communist? Does your know of any communists? (She is from Hanoi) When was the third visit of your fiance? What does he do?

The key was to answer honestly and to have all the paperwork. The interviewers did not look at all the evidence we compiled. I think being prepared showed. She said that a lot of people were turned away because of incomplete paperwork.

Here's our report of her interview on 1/23/2007. I was prepared with lots of evidences but only a few were looked at.

She arrived at the consulate at 8:24am for her 10:00am interview appointment, presented her passport and appointment letter to the security guard, then she entered into the security area. She was asked to leave her cell phone if she had one, send her bags through the X-ray machine, and then she walked through the metal detector.

She was shown to go down the right corridor for Immigrant Applicants into a very large waiting room (Non-Immigrants on the left to a different room). There were about two hundred people in that waiting room, individuals, mother and child, families, old folks, group of people, children of all ages, etc… There are 2 TV monitors in that room continuously giving detailed instructions on this entire process for applicants to listen to while waiting. There were instructions on where to get a number to wait, how to do... read complete review
