Linh had her appointment on the 23rd of March. She did not get asked too many questions. The big hold up is that we have to wait for our son's passport to come and then she will have a visa. For some reason they also want a photograph of her and her daughter, even though she had the birth certificate and My was present during the interview. Guvmint, go figure.
Waiting across the street is not all that bad. Met some pretty interesting people and watched the traffic which is always good entertainment.
We also completed a Consular Report of Birth Abroad. Staff was spot on and the waiting area was nice. Website says to make appointment 3 months in advance but I made ours 1 week out and had no problem. I as the sponsor was interviewed and asked about our relationship, how many times I had traveled to VN, what do I do for a living. The documentation called for in the website really did not appear to have any bearing on what was going on.

Hope the info below help fellow Vietnam filers:
7AM in VN, my fiancee was already waiting with hundreds of people standing on the sidewalk
The consulate opened before 8AM, my fiancee and others turned in paperwork, wait for hours and talk among themselves, while other people get interviewed right in front of her, I'll list a few bad stories below...
9:30AM (7:30PM here in CA) I decided to skip dinner, stop by my church and prayed until I hear anything from her.
11:30AM (9:30PM in CA) she called, my prayers were answered!
The Consulate Officer didn't give her any trouble, and the Vietnamese workers there didn't treat her that bad. I guess u just have to appear like u deserve some respect. Also, she probably had her paperwork together well.
Interview took 5 minutes, nothing about me:
- What's jor job? Answer: Marketing, event execution
- What exactly do you do? Answer: blah blah lbah
- Any things else... read complete review

My fiance interviewed same as all the rest on January 6, 2009. Same Questions. I was in USA at the time. She recieved blue paper requesting a new Affidavit of our relationship. An Affidavit from my Ex-wife proving citizenship, home address and divorce date. An Affidavit from Dao's Ex-husband stating his home address. All of these answers are in the original papers.
She told me translator told her to answer questions in Vietnamese language even though her english is good. Actually very good.
New Affidavits delivered January 20, 2009. Now is February 17, 2009. Still waiting.
