I would recommend that anyone that will be having a fiancé going to an interview in the HCMC Embassy please be aware that you should have a “textbook” relationship, courtship and marriage plans with your fiancée. The interviewer that interviewed my fiancée’ Ms Quynh, was not open minded enough to realize that someone 52 years old may not have a relationship with someone the same as someone in their 20’s and 30’s. I thought that if I just told the truth that they would understand our relationship. Now I am planning another trip to marry My Love so that we can have more PROOF for them. If your relationship is similar to mine than I hope that you heed my warning and show them the pictures and tell them the story that they want to hear.
In Quynh’s first interview on 9/21/2009, everything seemed to be fine though she did not understand a couple of the 14 questions that she was asked. The interviewer looked at a few photos and read my statement of love and c... read complete review

I know it's been a while but here is my review.
My Wife interviewed May 30th, 2008 for her K1 visa. We arrived about 6:30am, and when the Consulate opened the doors, the guards were kind, and we were about in the middle of the pack. At the time my wife was 5 months pregnant.
She went in and took a number. Like I said we were about the middle of the pack but they called her p FIRST. Maybe they saw that she was pregnant and didn't want to risk having a baby born in the consulate (U.S. Citizen by default). She was interviewed by one of the Korean women in the Consulate that are known for being rude. Well, my wife introduced herself in ENGLISH, and the CO told her she could interview in VIETNAMESE. She was asked about 5 questions (to which she new all the correct answers) and was given a PINK slip. All together she was in the consulate about 1 1/2 hours. Much of the time is spent sitting and waiting for the first numbers to be called. All in ALL, a GREAT exper... read complete review

The interview lasted about 30 minutes. There was the American Consular Officer and a Vietnamese Translator in the room. There were a number of questions asked regarding our relationship and the details of it. The Vietnamese translator asked some other questions and made comments beyond what the American Consular Officer.
We were given the blue slip to submit the additional requested information by Friday, July 3rd, but later called with an amended date for Wednesday, July 8th--probably because July 4th is an American Holiday.

See the posts that start as "the power of the two bit bureaucrat". Overall I have to say only one person in particular was a douchebag. Can't let the one taint the image of the many.
