I'm a US citizen and went with my wife and 2 year old stepson. Had a 7:30 am appointment. Arrived at about 7:15 am. The proper entrance is not well marked but it was the only one that was open and there was a greeter and 2 guards on the sidewalk. Greeter checked the appointment letter and passports then guards did a quick metal scan and we were let inside. First step was to wait in an orderly queue to go through security and then wait in another queue to hand in the appointment letter and my wife and son were finger printed and given a number. Immigrant and non-immigrant visas are all processed together but given numbers in two separate ranges. When almost everyone had processed through that line the started calling the numbers to hand in all the paperwork. Applicants with small children were given priority and called first. After handing in the paperwork we sat in the same room to wait for our interview. Interviews began after almost everyone had handed in their paperwork. Int... read complete review

The interview for my finacee was very quick and the officer was friendly. The interview was over in 10 minutes with just some basic overview questions.

My fiance went in for the interview at the scheduled time. They asked her if she spoke English, and she replied "a little bit." They then tried to conduct the interview in English, but my fiance had a difficult time understanding the interviewer. They did not accept the evidence she brought, nor did they allow the interpreter (who was present) to assist.
She got a blue slip due to my her inability to understand questions in English--set off "no common language" notice--they were concerned about our relationship and required me to explain how we communicate.
I sent evidence and a notarized letter by DHL Express ($$). My fiance filed it at the consulate after running it past her attorney. They approved with no 2nd interview required.
She got her passport back with the visa & packet for immigration 11 days later.
Now, we can plan her journey here and the wedding.

My interview slot was 8am on 29th Oct 2014. Went there at 7:30am, got through security check and was directed to a table where they scan my appointment letter. Then I went to line up for the fingerprints. That took about 30'. After that more waiting, about 30', till a guy called my number and took my documents. I didnt have my police record yet but it's ok he made a note and I returned to my seat.
After about 2 hours, I got called to the window to be interviewed. I did it in English and he asked the following:
- Have you lived in any country for more than 1 year?
- How long were you in Cambodia? (where my fiance and I met)
- What did you do in Cambodia?
- What are you doing now?
- What is your fiance doing now?
- Where was he born?
- How did he become an American citizen?
- You have been dating for a long time (4 and a half years), why did you decide to get married now, instead of continuing dating?
- Are you relate... read complete review
