There were two interviews. On the first I did not attend as I was not told it would be necessary. The visa was turned down and I hastily made plans to be there the following week. We entered at 8:30 and submitted our paperwork to a dour lady and hoped that she would not be conducting the interview. After 2.5 hours, we finally met with a young female consular official who could not have been more pleasant. There were a few questions at the window, then we were individually called to meet with her in a room. As we exited the Embassy door I clicked my heels in the air. Finally!!!
For our purposes the Embassy was well organized. They had a shaded seating area outside and drinks and refreshments were available. Cameras nor cellphones were permitted in the Embassy so I believe lockers would have been a worthy addition.

My fiancé couldn't obtain his Police Certificates and Medical Results on time for his interview so he was given a white slip requesting to come back to consulate when police records and medical were obtained, but he said that the CO was very nice and only asked him a couple of easy questions like "where did we meet", "my sister's name", "my parents names" and "what do I do for living". Two weeks after that 1st interview he went to the Consulate again with the pending documents. This time I was in Venezuela visiting him so I went with him. The CO was VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY NICE, young american girl, red and curly hair, big blue eyes, perfect spanish. More than an interview it seemed like a friendly conversation. She even told me she already knew me from the pictures she had seen on prior interview and that she was glad I was there with my love. It took 5 minutes, she was crossing out my fiance's pending documents from her check list as we were handing them to her. Then she asked my fi... read complete review

The I-134 form was not enough for them, we had to find a sponsor and filled out the forms I-134 and I-184, and take copies of the 1040s and W2s for the last 3 years... They gave my a letter to come back to the Embassy with those documents.

The interview was not difficult. We arrived at embassy early for our 8am interview, we were directed to the immigrant visa area, took a number, and waited about 20 minutes. We then turned in the visa forms, antecendentes penales, legalized birth certifcate and our I-134 make sure that you have a copy of the I-134 sponsers passport and/or us birth certifate to prove us citizenship. The lady looked over all the forms, and then directed us to the cashier to pay the $131 fee. Then we returned and waited for a consular officer to call us. Within 5 minutes we were called up. They asked us where and how we met, and why we hadn't gotten married in Venzuela. Then they told me (the us citizen) to sit down. Then they asked Brigmer what my brother's name was, what my brother did for a living, where I worked, where I studied, and what my parents names where and their professions. Then they called me back up and approved the visa!! The process was painless and pleasant ... read complete review
