Rated a 4 due to the arduous wait!
Overall, you should ask questions! When we arrived at the embassy, there were multiple lines, but no signs or anything posted as to why the separation. Upon asking, we were told it was according to appointment time. Once we were in the correct line, we were told the security guidelines, along with a long list of items prohibited in the embassy. Of those items, was any electronic item (including cell phones, though you can pay a man to keep it per hour--- I'm not sure how much he charges, but you will be in the embassy for hours!), a large purse, briefcase, or suitcase, certain types of metals, etc. If you had any of those items, you were told to leave them outside of the parking lot-that they have cameras and if they see that you leave something in the parking lot, you will be removed from the premisis and your appointment cancelled.

Only reason why I don't give the Caracas Embassy a 5 is because of the extremely long wait for lack of information or organization. Apparently everybody in the Immigration Visa Section is given the same appointment time of 8 am, not knowing this I arrived as recommended 30 minutes before my appointment, this made me the 14th person and was there until 2 pm.
Everything else EXCELLENT... The personnel though very serious (I guess the fact of denying so many visas does not permit them to be too friendly) were polite and not too inquisitive. In fact, more questions were asked by the person who received the papers (by the way had my fiancee take off all the tabs we put javascript:emoticon('')) then by the second person who performed the actual interview...

There is very little I can say about the Embassy at Caracas; however, everything that I can say is very positive. The embassy has great customer service. If you contact them by email through their website they will answer all the questions within 3 days. We contacted the embassy by this method 3 times to ask questions about our appointment and two documents to make sure we had exactly what they needed, and a prompt response always came back. Please keep in mind that the mail system in Venezuela is to say the least…. terrible, and if the Embassy sends out paperwork, most likely it will not come to your fiancés address until is too late. Once I received the letter from the NVC I gave it 4 days and sent an email to the Embassy telling them we had all the required documentation for the interview, and they sent us back an email 2 days later with an appointment date and time. I highly recommend for everyone to look at their website; everything you will need is there. The embassy has very ... read complete review
