Arrival was organised and fast. Standard airport style security.
Interview was pretty straight forward, consisting of two questions. How long have you been with your spouse? and Do you have a place to stay in the US?
Was in and out in approx. 30 minutes.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The embassy was pretty empty, with minimal staff working; I guess they are all working from home still.

There were about another 10 people waiting, one of them was a rearranged from March. I saw a K1 person there, not too sure how she managed to get an interview.

Was a fairly straightforward process, a little waiting involved, but not excessive.

They took all my documents from me and passport. They never asked for DS5540.

Annoyingly, they claimed not to have received my medical report, even though Visa Medicals say it was sent on July 8.

Interview part was brief; how did you meet, where, where is my wife now and if I will have medical insurance. That was about the extent of that.

My passport will be sent to me once they open the mail, I guess.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Great embassy compared to others I've been to. Hardest thing was having to wait between interviews which was around thirty minutes. Questions were simple and they approved my visa there and then.

So this took place in a COVID filled world before the embassy opened up to non-emergency stuff.

There was a bit of confusion for my appointment as it was an expedite and outside of being offered it I had no communication from the embassy to confirm it or anything. So when I arrived, embassy security had to actually call up to the office as my name wasn't on the list! And after leaving my house at 2am to get to London on time I was on edge lol. Fortunately everything worked out, got through security after showing an app working on my phone and walked through and up the elevators in a very empty/echo filled building.

When I got to the counter area there were about 4 or 5 people working in an office section that would usually have 20 or so people and I waited with about 4 other people in this time block to have my name called and give over some of my original documents to be checked. I was asked a couple of questions and handed the paper about my rights in ... read complete review
