In and out inside of an hour. I had read other peoples reviews of the US embassy in London and they were all positive but I still prepared myself for a long morning. I arrived at 9.30am for my 10am time slot, and the lady directed me to a short queue which took no time at all. I was through security and being given a number in 15 mins. I sat down and was called to the first window after about 7 mins. This was straight forward, the guy asked for my originals, scanned my finger prints, and gave me my chest x-ray back. Great, I thought, I now have to carry this huge envelope around london all day.

That lasted all of 5 minutes and I went and sat back down. I was called 30 minutes later and a different guy gave me back my originals, scanned my finger prints again, made me swear that all the info was correct, and asked me four simple questions. (What first attracted me to my Fiance? Where we met? How did I propose? and When did I last see her?... read complete review

My interview date was September 7th 2006. My interview appointment was at 9am, I arrived at the US Embassy in London at around 8:20am but decided to start lining up outside at about 8:30am. You get put into different lines depending on what time your interview time will be. This girl looked at my interview letter to see what time my appointment was and she told me to go into the left line for 9am appointments. This girl walked along the line also to ask if anyone had any liquid, toiletries, make up, toothpaste, things like that, if you do, you have to put in a clear plastic bag, which they give you, so I would try to avoid taking any of that stuff with you.
I waited around 20 minutes and the queue was gradually going down, you get called over by a security guy and he asks for your appointment letter and passport so he can check your name on their list, then he tells you to go secuirty hut, where you wait in like a small line, you put any folders your are carrying by hand and any... read complete review

My interview experiance in London UK was exceptional. They went out of their way to assist me and my physical limitations to get into the building and out. The waiting area wasn't as stressful as I imagined and they have a lovely sandwich and drink area at the back. The window operators were very friendly and I came away with no problems.

My interview was on a relatively mild summer's day, which was lucky because it got really hot within a week or so afterwards and I had to stand outside for more than two hours in total.

I got there at 8.45am for my interview time slot at 10.30am. It's true what they say about not getting there too early - you WILL wait. I got admitted into the building at just before 11am and they were running about 30 minutes behind pretty much from the start.

I deposited my phone, camera, PDA, etc with security and took a ticket and sat in a very crowded large room with windows dotted around the sides with consular officials behind. I was #23 for the immigrant visas and they were servicing #8 at the time. So I had plenty of time to check my documents.

After about an hour, they called my number for the document check. It seemed to take them a long time to get the immigrant visa queue moving but then they did, it was pretty quick. It almost came as a surpris... read complete review
