My fiance and I stayed at a friends in north London, and left the house around 8:45am. We arrived at Starbucks down the road around 9:30 and had a warm cup of coffee to start the day. At 9:55, we set off for the Embassy for our 10:30 appointment. There was a huge queue when we got there, that led into 4 other lines. Apparently the lines were for different appointments: 9:30, 10, 10:30 and 11. 11 o'clock was there last appointment slot, and each line went in order. So even people who showed up around 11 for their 9:30 appointment got let in first. It was total BS. If you can't show up on time for your appointment, that's your problem.

Needless to say, we had to wait outside for 2 1/2 hours in the cold rain just to be let in. We were soaking and cold and sick by the time we got in. Once in, we were 1 of 3 immigrant visas waiting (according to the electronic boards). We were called up about 5-10 minutes after being in, and handed in all of our document... read complete review

Got up at 6:15am, got the tube into London, arrived at the embassy and joined the que, it was early so it wasnt to bad, went in they gave me a ticket 007 and told me to take a seat and wait to be called.
About half hour passed and i was called to booth number one, there was a nice lady, she asked me to place my left four fingers onto a scan machine , then the right four fingers, then my two thumbs, she then asked me for my Birth Certificate, police certificate and a wage slip from my fiance, also gave her two more pictures, she gave me my X-Ray back, then told me to go to booth number twelve to pay £53 for the visa.
Once that was done i was told to go back and sit down, then wait to be called for the interview.
Half hour passed and i was called to booth 15 where i spoke to a man, he asked me to place my left four fingers onto the scan machine, i was asked to raise my right hand and swear than i was telling the truth about what i was saying was true, he asked how i... read complete review

AS narated by my Fiancee:

Stayed at the Hilton Euston, walked to the Embassy and arrived an hour early for 1030 appointment. Was directed to a line that moved very slowly. Noticed a lot of people cutting in line while outside for two hours.
Once inside things went quickly, although very nervous. I had two questions I was supposed to ask, but forgot. 1) Can you shed any light on the POE/Ead rules? 2) can I come back later for my visa instead of using the courier?

I was asked how we met, when we last saw each other, what did USC do for work, when will I fly out. I had prepared two large folders, but never managed to show a photo, e-mail, receipt, boarding pass, etc. as proof of ongoing relationship.
Arranged for the passport to be delivered to my workplace two days later. Was done and out in 45 minutes.

March 21st 2007:

My appointment was for 0900 and I arrived around 0810 to find a queue already formed, the woman in charge checked my letter and I got directed to a line.It was bitterly cold and it took an hour to get into the security shack where they take your electronic devices, check your shoes and bag etc. Once inside the embassy I got the ticket from a really confused girl on the front desk and then sat in the Argos style waiting area and was surprised to be called up after only 10 mins - the lady at the window then asked me for my application forms, I explained about sending it all pack with packet 3 and she looked totally confused until the penny dropped and she realised the front desk girl had issued me with the wrong ticket type...I then waited around 20 minutes to be called to the right window where I handed in my passport, certificates, affadavit etc and tried to provide my fingerprints - it was taking my hands a while to warm up from the cold outside and the ... read complete review

My interview was for 10.30am. I joined the queue outside the embassy at 9.45am and i'm glad i did. It was bitterly cold, and lots of people waiting to get in, so it took a good hour before i made it to the front of the line, through security check, and into the building to defrost. Once into the embassy, you get given a number, and then you simply wait in room to be called. Was called up twice, once to provide the documentation, i.e passport, support of evidence etc and to pay the visa fee, the second time i was called was for my interview.. was asked basic questions about the relationship and our plans, and then i was told i was approved! Was instructed to pay the courier for my passport to be delivered and go home. Inside the embassy I was only waiting for hour an half for the whole process to be completed. None of the extra evidence such as phone bills, pictures etc were asked for, but i definitely felt good for taking them in case they had any doubts. Worst part of the day was wait... read complete review
