My experience was pretty much identical to most of the others on here so I won't bore you all with the details. It's basically a very long wait for a short interview. I will warn you all though that the waiting room at the Embassy gets very warm and stuffy so don't wear lots of clothes or a heavy coat.

Griff had the 8:00 interview and was second in the queue. Once inside the embassy, he had no troubles. They asked for his paperwork, where they remarked at how well organized he was. He then sat down, waited 2 minute before his name was called. Went up to the window, exchanged a pleasantry and was asked 3 questions:
1. Where did you meet?
2. When did you meet?
3. Why will you live in the US rather than the UK?
Said once the medical results were back he'd have his passport and visa within a few days. Then wished him a good day. And that was it!

I had my interview today. I arrived at the embassy at 7:45 for an 8am interview. Inside, I was first called to a window and the guy there had my file with the USCIS and NVC stuff. He asked me when I planned to travel and took figerprints of both hands. Then he tolded me to wait. After 20 min I was called for the interview they took fingerprints again of the right hand and took the oath. Then the lasy asked me when I got married and when I first met my wife? She said that everything was in order and I was approved but they require further processing because Shahid Khan is very common name. I asked her how long it was going to take because my UK visa is expiring on Nov 30. She said it can take anywhere from 4 days to 3 months. They will send the file back to washington. She said that she will put in a note to complete this processing in a hurry since my visa is expiring and as soon as I get cleared from washington they will call me to send my passport through courier service so they can ... read complete review

woke well early for my interview. collected my paperwork together and headed for the embassy, i got there just after 8am, there was about 15 people infront of me and the lady asked me to go into the queue for 8am, i told her my interview was at 9am she said not to worry, sooner in...sooner out...she was right too! they put my phone and hotel key in a bag and i joined the queue, went through security, the paperwork and my bag going through an xray machine and i stepped through the big machine like they have in airports, they took my phone and gave me my things back giving me a tag with a number on so that i could reclaim my phone after the interview.
the building is ugly, very much like what the jobcentres used to be like, nothing like a bank, theres about 25 windows where you have your interview, and about 200 chairs, there was already about 100 people in there, lots going for non imigrant visas, i was ticket 5008 (by the time i was leaving there was only 5015 left to go) i sat ... read complete review
