Glen's interview was very easy. He spent a lot of time waiting, but as far as everything else, it went well. He brought all of the recommended paperwork, but they didn't look at most of it. He was asked a few questions, and that was about it. No worries!!

I caught the train to London and arrived in Grosvenor Square at 8am... far too early for my 9:30 appointment but better early than late. Started talking to a man who was also waiting for 9:30 (he was applying for a tourist visa), we queued together at just before 9am and the lady asked us if we had any electronic items, if we did she gave out a plastic bag to put them in. I said no and she didn't say anything more, just sent me on my way. As I was making my way forwards in the queue, I noticed that a lot of people had keys in the bags and began to worry that maybe she should have given me a bag anyway. As I got to the front of the first queue, the line stopped. We had no idea why, but it was 45 minutes before it started moving again. The second queue is for the metal detector. Took off my watch and put my keys in the plastic container the guy held out to me. Then I walked into the embassy.
I was given number 5016 as I walked in and was po... read complete review

Called Consulate (Monday 7th Jan) after trying to email and getting back "Email deleted without being read" a few times and only two emails/replies back (No iuseful info). I was told I may need to resubmit my check-list?? (Rubbish). I obtained an email code but didn't get time to use it because an email popped up saying I'd been sent a letter of appt for MONDAY 14th! Seven days to book, and have, a physical! I called on the 8th and went to have my physical on the Wed 9th. (I wished my interview could've been later in the week then I could've attended the medical the day before and stayed in London). I was shocked at the short notice and worried that my medical report would not be there in time for my interview and it wasn't. But they said it would be OK and would send my visa once the Consulate had recieved it.
So I learned that it's easy to book a physical (next day) and that I didn't have to rush to have it and run the risk that I may have been refused a visa after paying and... read complete review

First of all, for those of you who are as scared of this interview as I was; don't be. It's nothing. Really.
And now, the review.
Living as I do in the north of England, I was compelled to take an overnight coach to London. This arrived around 6:30 in the morning, giving me two hours before my appointment. I called my fiancee for a while, who helped calm my nerves a lot (as she often does, it's one reason why I love her), then went to get some breakfast. I then bought a day pass on the Underground, and boarded a train for Oxford Circus, then on to Marble Arch. It was really early still, but I wanted to make sure I could find the place easily. It's difficult to miss. It's the really big building with the American flag on the roof. There were a lot of roadworks around, so finding the actual entrance entailed walking halfway around the world first. I eventually found a sign that said 'Visa applicants this way', or something along those lines (I forget what ... read complete review

Pretty smooth and seamless.. only about three questions during the interview.
Friendly and efficient service.
