My husband had his interview yesterday and it went extremely well. He arrived at 7:15am for his 8:00am appt and was about 15th in line - so you do want to get there early. After going through the security check-in he went inside and was given his number. The intitial person he spoke to was very friendly and put him at ease while reviewing his paperwork. The 2nd officer did ask more detailed questions but nothing too severe and seemed to be helpful. He then went to file out waiver and they told him to add a letter from him versus just my hardship documentation and to mail it back instead of filing now and having it mailed back to us to save time. He was done by 10:30am.
Overall they were very helpful and nice.

Got a full report from my fiance today after his (successful!) visit. It went essentially like everyone has recounted in the recent reviews, but it took much longer. His appointment was for 8am - he arrived at 7:45 - and he wasn't out of there till noon!! He said there were a lot of non-immigrant visa applicants there (including several bands applying for visas to tour), so perhaps that slowed things up since part of the delay was having to queue for an hour after he was approved to submit the courier service paperwork.

The actual interview took about 2 min. They only asked how we met and why we chose the US over the UK. They wanted to see the actual affadavit of support but none of the paperwork I'd sent to back it up.

IN SUM: good experience, but a lot of down time waiting. His advice: take lots of reading material. He resorted to re-reading the paper he had brought at one point!

Well here we go. I set off Early from Marble Arch Inn so I could get a starbucks, which by the way the Marble Arch Inn let's you keep you luggage there while you go to the interview. My interview was at 8.30 because I had a lenght of overstay but less than the 180 day mark. So arrived at the embassy about 7.30ish. as I got there I was ordered by a Policeman to go and stand in the park at the far end. I began working down and could see all the other people stood there too. I maded it to the crowd to find out someone had left a bag outsided the embassy. So it was being treated as bomb scare !!! I thought great just what I needed. Sounds bad I know but all I could think of was being sent home and having to rebook. anyway must have lasted and hour or more before we was given the all clear and was able to get back in line lucky I manged to get to the front of the 8.30 line but with the hold up didn't get in till 9.11. So got in to the building there a lady at a table facing the glass doors ... read complete review

It was painless. The wait was long, but the actual interview took 5 minutes. There is no need to stress as long as you have all the information they ask you to bring.

Interview was very easy. I was in the embassy for about three hours, but interviewed for under 10 minutes, with two questions; where did we meet, and why the US not the UK, and then approved. No need for all the evidence, but its sitll nice to have! I know its easy to say in hindsight, but try not to stress as it realy was a breeze!
