Arrived on the day at 09:15 for the 10:00 interview. Got through the security (they were very nice) without any waiting time and got up to the waiting area by 09:30. Sat and waited for a few minutes for my number to be called, I then saw a man at a window who asked for my original copies of the civil documents uploaded to NVC. I handed them over and we went through a couple of other admin things like confirming I have not been married before and he went to fetch my medical results from a filing cabinet behind him. He took my fingerprints and I sat back down. Just after 10:00, I was called to a second window to see another man. He confirmed it was me by taking fingerprints and then I swore the oath. He asked a few questions, such as:
How did you meet your spouse?
When are you planning to travel to the US?
What are you planning to do in the US?
Who is your joint sponsor?
This took about 2 minutes and then he concluded by approving me on ... read complete review

Friendly staff, few questions - where did you meet your husband, all standard questions. It took 40 min - from security to exit. Embassy can be tricky to find - there is construction everywhere, but worry not - if you are a bit late they still let you in.

The whole process was very smooth and professional.
After security, getting the deli counter numbers, and making my way to the waiting area I was called to the first window.
There I gave my passport, police certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate and did a finger print scan.
After a 30 min wait I was called for the interview. I was asked when and how we met, when I was planning to move, and whether I had any photos of us as a couple.
It pays to be prepared with everything they list in the website - if you do that then it will all go smoothly.
It did seem crazy how after applying in Nov ‘20 it was all done in a such short space of time!

Review of medical at visamedicals
It’s a straight forward process (check up, vaccines, X-ray) and everyone is professional and courteous as you would expect.
Points to note:
If you don’t have your childhood vaccination records then ask your gp for your full medical records asap - it can take up to 30 days or longer. I just had my short summary which my gp emailed.
I had a tetanus vaccine and a blood test for MMR immunity - £130 additional I think.
They emailed a couple days before the appointment saying that they didn’t need any passport photos since the application is digital.
Took a couple hours and I was there for a 8:50 appointment.
