The appointment was set for 9:00 AM, I (petitioner) arrived at the embassy with the beneficiary at around 6:30 AM. We waited outside and there was only one other family waiting in the area already. The staff started to show up and set up around 7-7:30 AM and started calling folks that had 7:45 - 8:00 AM appointments. We had heard that it was a first-come-first serve bases however, that was not the case. First they only lined up the NIV applicants then the IV applicants and all had to go by the appointment time specifically no exceptions. Several people were turned away as they (Embassy) had changed the time for them and were told to come back later. So make sure the interview time matches what you have online, I would check the AIS site the night before to double check.

Our interview was at 1pm. Husband went in at 12. Was waiting outside in line until ~12:45. After going inside it was security checks (airport style). Then passport and IL were collected and he was given a token. Then he waited till he was called for documents.
Documents asked for:
-Marriage Certificate
-Birth Certificate
-National ID card
-1 passport sized photo
After that they took his fingerprints, this was done quickly. Then he waited ~an hour for the interview part. No further documents were requested but he was asked a lot of questions. He said it was more of a conversation than an interview and the interviewer was nice and made jokes. He was approved, he didn’t receive any papers but was told his passport would be kept for stamping and he should get it sometime after the weekend.
He came out at 2:30.
Questions asked:
-When and how did you meet?
-What is your job?
-What is your spou... read complete review

Interview was in embassy in Abu Dhabi… watch out for proper parking lot…all staff were polite, helpful and professional… from the door till you exit!!! There will be documents checking before your real interview… don’t get fool your first call is your interview… finger print will be done as well… officer was so professional and polite and accommodating…took 2 hours from parking lot back to the car… nothing like crowded but they were half staff working because of Covid…many documents I translated was not required and many others was already on their computer! Guess what? He didn’t ask for any translation whatsoever!!! So they asked for very few original just to look at it! Straight forward questions…
