I had appointment for interview at 9.00 am 03-07-2008. Fortunately, my fiance was with me (he arrived the day before, when i made my medical check up, and we had to stay in a hotel as i didn't live in Kiev where interview was held). We reached the consulate around 8.30am and waited in a "line" (there were no one before us, only a lot of students, but they applied for other visa type and somehow they were in another group) for about 10 minutes, then we were allowed to go (even they allowed my fiance to come in without his international passport, only with driver license). Inside of "check point" we were checked on metallic detector, and asked to live our cell phones, metallic pen and i don't remember if anything more, in a little container right there. We were well prepared and almost had nothing with us except papers. Then we entered a building of consulate, followed the arrows and reached a room with another 2 people applying for K1-K3 visas in it. We waited for about 15 minutes and w... read complete review

We were both so worried..! I dug out all possible pictures from all countries we'd been to together, printed out e-mails, etc. We showed up for K-1 visa interview together, the officer looked at our paperwork, asked if I'd lived anywhere else for more than a year apart for Ukraine and Indonesia (I said "no")and showed us where to sign the papers. THAT WAS IT!!!
I was like "aren't you gonna look at the pictures at all" of course I didn't say that.. I'd done all this work to prove we were for real and it didn't last longer than 5 minutes in total!!
Thereagain, Michael had been visiting the consulate to deal with his issues, so they already knew him there. I also had applied for a B2 visa there to go home for Christmas together (while my I-129F was pending), but was denied. So they were "getting sick of us" by the time interview took place.
Oh yeah, they made a mistake on my visa (typed the wrong birth dat... read complete review

My first/initial interview was not successful as I was told we need a joint sponsor. So I got a pink paper instead of visa. But my husband called the embassy a few times and proved that we don't need a co-sponsor. The embassy people just over-looked some of my husband's financial info, his assets namely.
So 3 weeks later I got my passport with visa.
