Anna had her interview on Monday October 27th at 0900. She called me at 1300 when she was finished. Her part of the interview only lasted ten minutes! The girl in front of her did not have their proof of meeting and it took forty minute of questioning before they came to a decision. So, word to the wise, have proof of meeting for the interview ie hotel receipts, air line tickets, baggage receipts, restaurant receipts, cab tickets/rental car, photos taken at famous landmarks, etc...

Very easy and stress-free. Embassy staff was very nice to us and even had a sense of humor. If you have all of the documents, there will be no problems.

So I had my interview Oct 17th. I went on my own, was little bit worried but everything turned out just great. Gave all the documents to the Ukrainian stuff, then fingerprints and the interview itself. Took me 3 hours and thirty something minutes. 9.30-13.15 to be more exact.
The questions were:
1)How did you meet?
2)What is the last time you saw her?
3)How long was she in Ukraine?
4)Any brothers or sisters?
5)Where does she work?
6)How did you communicate with each other?
And then I got that pink card
 paid 43UAH and that's it. I wish you all good luck.

Our interview was fairly smooth. My story is a little longer and detailed, but I feel it may help someone in the future. We arrived in Kiev on Saturday and rented an apartment (arranged 2 weeks ahead) for 4 nights for $55.00 a night. Getting TO the apartment proved a challenge when the wheels broke on my suitcases, but we made it. We went to a Pro Bank to pay for our applications, knowing they closed at 4pm. Our taxi driver made CERTAIN we made it on time, as he zipped along the roads. We made it with 15 minutes to spare, paid for the applications, and recieved the receipt/notice. We went to the Embassy on Sunday just so we knew where we were to go for our Monday morning, October 3rd, 9:30am appointment. We arrived a little early-9am--and there were many people waiting outside. We walked up to the front and I showed my passport and was allowed to go ahead since I was a USA citizen. Everything about the interview was exactly as I've read described here before. We arrived about 10 minutes before the scheduled time and were directed to the the visa appointment line (far right). After checking that our names were on the list we were immediately let into the consulate and were asked if we had any cell phones, etc. Of course from reading entries here already we knew not to bring anything in but our documents and identification so we sailed right in and were let in to the waiting area. The waiting area is small and only seats 13 people. You will find people there for both K-1, K-3 visas and for adoptions. There are two windows in the room and for our visit, three different people who spoke through the glass: a Ukrainian woman, a Ukrainian Man and the Consular Officer who stepped in from time to time to keep things moving.
