The interview went very well.
We had been traveling around Ukraine and arrived in Kyiv from Ivano-Frankivsk the day before (Sunday) by train. Arranging the payment of $350 was a minor nightmare, because I had lost my bank card and my credit card kept issuing fraud alerts whenever we tried to use it as a second option in ATMs. After a 20-minute phone call to the service center in Delaware, however, the card was authorized and I quickly made the necessary withdrawals at a Bankomat.
After staying in an apartment and doing some laundry, we got a much needed night's rest. We called a taxi, which took us to the consulate and we arrived around 8:20 for a 9 a.m. interview. There were many people standing around in various lines. We found a woman who directed us to a separate building where we could store my fiancee's purse and any such items for a fee, for which we got a little wooden ticket, and then we went out to find a cup of coffee and just walk around a bit to calm... read complete review

Tanya and her Daughter (Masha) arrived at 8:30 for a 9 am interview. They were done and approved by 1 pm.
The questions they asked her:
How we met.
How many times (and the dates) of trips to Ukraine
Why didn't I stay longer on my first trip (I was there for 6 days)
Why I got divorced from my first wife.
What do I do for a living.
Where does my Ex-wife live? (this question I found a bit odd)
That was it for Tanya.
They didn't ask Masha much of anything except What she thought about me. And then they told her in order to maintain her Green Card she would have to spend 6 months a year in the USA. She was also advised she should finish University in the USA. (not going to happen, unless USCIS or the state dept wants to pay for it).
Tanya told them that she has a ticket out of Kiev in 4 days and they told her she should be able to pick up the FedEx in Kiev on Wednesday or Thursday.
The visa was picked up on Thursd... read complete review

Medical was on June 7th in what we affectionately nicknamed the "Hall of Horror". What a completely unorganized mess. The only thing I can say about this medical process is this. You do not have to do the tasks (blood test, x-ray, etc) in any certain order. So after you are given the list of tasks, just go and do which ever one you can get into first.
The interview was great. We had tons of worries. We had met almost 6 years ago and had lost touch about 5 years ago (she moved, I changed jobs and emails) and then reconnected on FaceBook about a year ago. We were afraid they we going to ask many questions about what happened 6 years ago (we never applied for a visa) and question if we loved each other even after losing touch. But when we got to the window she was very nice, summed up our relationship in about 2 sentences. She asked me for my passport, made some comments about my photo and told me she needed to talk to Alyona alone. I said OK, kissed Alyona and went to the... read complete review

I was supposed to be there for the interview on April 20 but the volcano changed our plans. I had to scan and email the documents I had planned to take with me. There were no problems. Tanya arrived at 8:30 and was out of the consulate by 11:30. Her interview was in Russian. She was asked how many children I have, my job and where I lived. That's it. Tanya said the female consul officer was very pleasant and helpful.
