Wife's interview on 11 Oct. Just under four hour process arrival to departure. One small hiccup, missing confirmation letter for visa delivery. Embassy staff took care of it. Russian speaking clerk asked for all original documents establishing the relationship. Fingerprints and wait. Interviewer asked a few questions: Where and when met, how many visits, where husband works, do you know he has children, does son talk with husband? "Chat with interviewer take max 3 min, at 1130 we were outside."
Observations: Interviewers spoke Russian or English as needed with customers. One person needed a corrected document, visa approved, passport kept, just had to get that document to the embassy. Staff was courteous, efficient and helpful - guards outside, clerks inside and interviewer. A reasonably painless experience.
Olga says "tell not need so much worry, everybody is very friendly and helping"

All went well. Arrived at Embassy 7:15AM for a 7:45AM appointment. Waited until security started working at around 7:30 and was called to front of line because of appointment with a K1 interview. Headed inside to the left where there were about 15 windows and was first to be called up. Fiancee submitted all paperwork according to KEV1 checklist and then we waited until 9AM. At 9AM they called her up to window and started questions, however they saw me in the background sitting down and called me up also. They asked me 2 questions; 1) about previous marriage and 2) how did we meet, and 3) do you know about fiancee's ex. I knew all the answers of course, and officer said congratulations call TNT express after 1-2 days for your Visa (hinted it could take up to 10 days).
All went well and my only recommendation to others out there is to have your papers organized and in good order. I saw many K1 applicants while I was waiting fumble through heaps of papers.

We arrived about 7:45 a.m., there were about 35 people waiting in line. They let us in shortly after 8:00 a.m., we went through security very quickly (they hold your cell phone at the security checkpoint) and went inside and got a number. After a short wait we were called to the window where a very professional, business-like and knowledgeable woman took all the forms and documents. We then waited about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, and were called to another window where a man conducted the interview. He was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. The interview just took a few minutes and we were approved.
All in all it was a very easy experience and the people were wonderful.

Both of us were there for the interview. Petitioner was asked no questions. Sponsor was asked one question - 'how did you two meet?'. The whole interview lasted maybe 2 minutes, but we had to wait for about 2.5 hours until they got to us.
I think having both parties at the interview really helped ease the whole process.
