Zaichik moi had her interview today and it went swimmingly well. I am leaving a 5 star review to rate her experience with the interview itself; but leading up to it was a horrendous experience.
It started in March, I (petitioner) had flown to be present at her interview. The day before our interview date, the embassy called her and cancelled it due to the Corona epidemic blowing up. We were devastated... no matter how we begged and pleaded, they refused to interview her. We wasted so much time, money and effort. I had to fly back to the US before they closed down the airports. For the next six months, there was no movement on our case and every inquiry was met with vague responses of resuming asap but at an unknown date. It was incredibly frustrating.
At the beginning of September, the Dept of State issued a notice that K1's would be given priority (presumably because lawsuits were being organized against them) and soon after, they called her asked if she... read complete review

My wife had her interview scheduled at 11:30 AM, 20-Aug-2020
She had to wait until a little after 12:00 PM to be allowed to enter. The place was packed to Covid capacity with student visa applicants. Some student visa interviewee's were turned away at the entrance due to high temperature at the health checkpoint.
When she entered she handed her paperwork to an agent at a window and was told to wait. After about an hour the CO called her in for the interview.
The CO asked 5 questions:
- How we met
- Why she left the US (she entered last year on K1 but left due to family emergency. We didn't adjust status)
- Where I worked
- When/where we saw each other after she returned to Ukraine
- My first and last name.
She was approved and given a letter stating that the passport will be delivered by the courier service to the designated location in 5 working days.
The visa was... read complete review

Interview at Consular Section US Embassy Kyiv. Arrived on time, or before. Given number on entry. I went with her to the window when her number was called, to inform the consular officer that I was the petitioner, and that I speak Russian fluently. I thought it was best to do this since she speaks almost no English. Then they told me to wait a few feet from the window, because they wanted to talk with her privately. They asked her about my children and previous marriages, if she knew about them. She told them everything she knew about those subjects. Name of my children and names and number of previous wives. But she didn't get a police clearance with her maiden name on it, because she only had an internal passport for 2 years before she got married. Had to go back and get an updated police clearance, but they kept her passport and issued the visa quickly when we brought the police clearance.

Valentyna had her interview. All went well. Her visa arrived right before Christmas. We decided that I would not fly to pick her up until March 18nth.
Corona virus prevented me leaving the united states as Ukraine were closing its borders and flights into Kyiv.
I was to arrive March 15nth and we were to arrive back March 18nth. Her visa has a May 22nd date to last enter.
We are both afraid that corona virus will go on much longer and her visa will expire.
What to do. Embassy has not been helpful
