My fiancée's overall experience with this embassy was very good. On the day of the interview, she was running late and arrived at the embassy about 15 minutes after her appointment time. Due to this she was not required to wait in line to enter. Once there, she was called to the first window within 10 minutes where she was asked for all the various documents, and then she returned to the waiting area. Within 10 minutes, she was called to another window, and asked some very basic questions (eg "how did we meet?", "where does your fiancée live?". etc..) After around 5 of these type questions, the woman at the window said that her visa was approved and that she should receive this within 2-4 days. My fiancée's experience at the embassy was not characteristic for normal wait times, but she was in and out the door with visa in about 30 minutes.

Elena had her interview at 8:30am. She arrived about 4:45am by bus from Kharkov, had a coffee and waited for her interview time. She had all documentation necessary. She showed her appointment slip to the guard, had no problems getting in. The lady that met with her was very pleasant. Elena's English is ok, and Elena tried to speak with her in English. Elena's only complaint is that it was very noisey and difficult to hear the questions in English, but heard much easier when the lady asked again in Russian.
She stated the lady took all her paperwork and medical packet, and returned some moments later, asked her a few questions about me and my profession, and my x wives. She was told approved in about 20-30 minutes.

Nataliia's appointment at Kyiv US Embassy was on August 1, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. She passed through security without trouble and when she presented K-1 documents outside the Embassy was escourted to the front of the line. Admitted shortly thereafter. There was a 2 hour wait before the interview. About 10 applicants were waiting for K-1 Visa interview. The interview lasted about 5 minutes. Interviewer initially spent some time reviewing documents, then asked how we met. Really basic questions were asked. Then interviewer smiled and informed Nataliia K-1 Visa was approved and wished her a happy life! Easy process, polite staff at Kyiv Embassy.

I had my interview appointment on December 07.
My husband & I did not sleep for some last day at all as you can imagine it seems that all your happiness & being together depends on this day.
So I did not sleep. My Interview was at 08 am but it was so much snowing that very day that even I couldn't get there in time and was a bit 15 minutes late.
I took the album with our photos & our thick file with e-mail correspondence, our Skype calls copies, originals. Was waiting not too long, in half an hour or so I was invited to the window. I was impressed by the politeness & smiles of Interviewer officer. She asked me to give her all originals and application Forms, then also she asked our photos where we are together.
Asked my full name, my Petitioner's name, dates of birth, if I have children, if my adult son goes with me, some two simple questions, looked at our files and said that everything is ok & I can seat & wait for a Interview with Consul.
