The interview went very well and fast. They asked all the normal questions but did not grill her. She was approved that day and had her visa two days later.

We dressed in business casual attire, and the CO was very polite. He quickly went through our paperwork, and asked only a few questions. He was very sorry to inform us that we needed a Canadian Police Certificate since Igor lived there over 6 months. He said doesn't matter how long ago if past the age of sixteen. He said we were essentially approved and to just give the police certificate to the front when acquired. We went through a lot of trouble to try and get it while being physically in Ukraine. Once received we took to the embassy and was approved the second day.

in the whole my experience was nice. I was very nervous because I was denied a tourist visa several years ago. We went together with my daughter, she is 15 y.o. But everything went well. I was asked questions about my fiancé: where we met, his birthday, how many times he visited me, if he was married and if he has kids. My daughter was not asked any question, just got the compliment for her English after she read an oath. Everything took us a little less than two hours. Before the interview I was given a brochure and during the interview the officer commented upon it. All workers were polite and friendly. That is all.

I attended the interview with my Ukrainian fiance and her teenaged son. The lady who took our papers was extremely helpful in getting everything organized, she even took out scissors to cut the passport photos to the correct size for us. We waited about 45 minutes for the actual interview with the consular official.
The official swore in my fiance and her son, asked basic questions about how we meet, asked her son if he and I spoke about his moving to the USA, and then told us we were approved. He was very kind and quite funny at times.
The visa was delayed as my fiance had to take a TB test, which lasts 8 weeks. The CO issued a temporary denial on that basis, but once her test results were done, the medical center informed the consulate and they issued the visa within days of getting the test results.
A surprisingly good experience with all the staff there, really great customer service, especially for a government office.
