The interview was very smooth and easy, just remember to collect all the documents they requested in the letter. Also the list of prohibited items in the Embassy is extensive. No cell phones, car keys with any type of electronics (House keys are allowed), backpacks or purses, etc.
As a side note, you can bring your USA Citizen fiance/Husband without any prior appointment or contact, just have him/her show his/her passport.
We arrived for our 8:00AM appointment at about 7:30 and were let in around 7:45. We were sent to a room to submit supporting documents and fingerprints, and then waited for the interview. After about 10 minutes we were called to the window with a very nice man who asked a few simple questions about our relationship (How we met, how many times I visited my wife, how long we have been together, where I was from (US Citizen)).
After that he said our documents were all sorted out and our visa was approved!

My fiancé just finished his interview in Kiev. His appointment was at 8:30am, he was way too excited and showed up at 7:00 so he had to wait outside until 8:15. he stored his phone and backpack in the nearby pharmacy beforehand, like everyone suggested here. He was interviewed by a very friendly man who spoke Russian with him. He was asked how many times I visited him, when was the first time he met me, if he has family in the US, how we communicate and how often, how old I am (38), how old he is (25) the man said: Ñто нормально, Ñто нормально with a smile and told him he was approved and to expect the visa to be ready within 5 days. My fiancé said the interview only lasted about three minutes!

Appointment at 8:30 AM. We were called to the first window at 8:40 AM and presented all our documents to a friendly English and Russian speaking administrator. We were then called for our interview at 9:10 AM with the Consulate Officer. Friendly with excellent Russian and English. We were asked several simple & clear questions. Interview was completed in 10 minutes and K1 Visa "Approved".
Very efficient, friendly & professional staff. Very, very positive experience.

My fiancee and I arrived at the embassy around 8:00 and were out at 9:20
We got called to a first window where all the papers were turned in, and shortly after they called for the interview. The officer called my fiancee and me by our names when we were at the window.
The questions were pretty straight forward. Did we meet online? How we met, to which my fiancee replied with our full story. Officer asked where I work and what I do. Asked where my fiancee works and what she wants to do in US.
Papers and proof of ongoing relationship were returned and with a smile he replied that everything is okay and visa is approved.
P.S. Guards were kindof trashy. Supposedly any US citizen can skip the line and wait, but they didn't seem to care.

Everything was very nice! Great thanks for the help to all the officers and employees.
I prepared a really big package, however the officer didn't really pay attention on it. He asked: where did we meet? When am I planning to leave? Do I love
My fiancée?
And boom: approved
